Favorite Music

We’ve had enough political threads for a while, so to switch things up let’s talk about music. What are your favorite musical genres, favorite musicians, favorite plays and bands? Elaborate why you like them, favorite albums, etc.

Have at it. No wrong answers here.

Fave band of all time The Cure
Best Album The Stone Roses, The Stone Roses.
Favourite Song, Disarm, the Smashing Pumpkins.
Most exciting musical moment, standing next to Roger Daltrey in the toilets of the Crumbles cinema in Eastbourne and humming my generation to which he smiled and said seeya mate, he is very short.
Best live performance seen, Queen at Live Aid, I cued for 24 hrs to get tickets at 18.
Hardest song I can play well on the guitar, the solo for Bird of paradise by Snowy White.

Don’t really have a genre of musics I consider to be my favorite, because I listen to all form of musics. Language also don’t matter, as long I can groove to the beat. Here’s a few samples.

From Jazz to gaming, as long as I can get into the beat, I’ll listen.

Bagpipes, obviously.

😆 I should have thought of them first. Schoolboy error! 👆

I like new wave music. Stuff like deseche mode and the like.

Also like ambient music without vocals. Example - Jakob

Also like alternative. Things like Radiohead and a perfect circle. Tool as well.

Like metal. Pantera. Slipknot. Korn. Rob zombie. Fear factory.

Lot of movie and video game soundtracks.

Saw Depeche mode twice, once when they were really young and had their drumming on tape and then again when they were rock gods 👆 top notch

The Prodigy and Slipknot are my 2 fave bands. Muse, U2 and arctic monkeys are up there too. Listened to a lot of rave in the 90’s. Best gig was probably seeing Oasis at knebworth worth the prodigy supporting.

love them all except slipknot, top notch, saw Oasis at Wembley, good show. Saw U2 at live aid and Wembley, saw the Monkeys at Brixton Academy. Top notch!

Love the prodigy, the cure (all mixed up album is a fave for chilling,) alice in chains (sap,) smashing pumpkins ghish, rage against the machine.....

Tons of more modern music as well now but those are some of the music from the youthful days😛

I also saw all of those in concert except the cure.......before I left the dc area I ended up watching something like 40-50 different bands/concerts live/perform.

Lollopoluza at lake fairfax was maximum jacked with RHCP, Minsitry, Ice Cube, Pearl Jam, porno for pyros etc etc crazy fun.

Good taste, all. The Cure, Depeche Mode, and Nino Simone - all excellent musical artists in their own right.

I’m partial to ambient and electronics music, that akin to Aphex Twin, Tim Hecker, Four Tet and the like. Seven Fields of The Aphelion and Geotic are two groups I can’t get enough of along with a slew of other acts. Gaussian Curve is a supergroup of several prolific musicians of whom gather to create completely improvised songs.

Deftones, The Smiths, Crystal Castles, Washed Out, Tool, Ghost, David Bowie, The Strokes, all favorites. I can’t even begin to list them all.

1. Savage Garden

The rest: Eminem, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Nirvana, Linkin Park and various others.
