A few now that I think about. Not as many as some guys I work with who have been doing it for about 40 years in some cases.Little Steven (Silvio from The Soprano's) and The Disciples Of Soul,
Slade,
Damon Albarn with his supergroup The Good, The Bad & The Queen,
Stereophonics,
Austrailian Pink Floyd (I know they're a tribute act but they're bigger than a lot of signed, original groups),
The Ting Tings (let me play on their drum kit... not a euphemism),
Ladytron,
CKY (Bam Margera's band),
Enter Shikariand
last and definitely least... Lostprophets (I'll forget about working with them)
There are a few others too, they're the biggest probably. Looking forward to getting back into it, hopefully around October, Covid willing.
Back in the day Stevie had a radio show called Little Stevies Underground Garage that i would listen to on my hr long ride home from work. Outside of the tunes, half the show was pretty much just him telling stories from his life.
He always seemed like he would be a cool guy to meet in real life, have a few drinks with and listen to some stories.

how sinister was he? In real life?
You're used to not actually laying eyes on a band member either before or after a gig TBH, but as far as he is concerned though he always left straight away after a gig, the other guys stuck around a bit, chatting with tech staff/personal friends/crew, they even grab a couple of bits of kit themselves IIRC. A band member leaving straight after a gig isn't anything extremely unusual though, we all just assumed he was a diva or something, but in hindsight he may have left for nefarious purposes. Pretty sure there was a gig with an overnight run to another gig, for example, Manchester-Liverpool, Manchester-Birmingham, Nottingham-Sheffield, where he left afterwards and drove back to his home in Wales to stay overnight and join up at the new venue the next night and the techies and his band mates were doing that tutting, head shaking thing as if this wasn't the first time. At the time I wondered what would compel someone to do that, I mean, almost anything goes on a tour bus, drugs, hookers, etc. Then after the story about him broke, I stopped wondering what his motivation was.

Steve Van Zandt is a bit of a perfectionist, he has really high standards but it's his tech crew that have to deal with that side of him. He's best spoken to at the end of a good gig as he's very focused beforehand and takes each and every gig seriously, genuinely loves what he does though.

That sounds terribly vile. Thanks for the story and input, Samhain.

Originally posted by Eon BlueOh yeah, Devin Townsend's (bald guy I linked before) work is probably more or less my favorite metal these days but metal was the first genre of music I really started listening to, and even though my tastes have expanded greatly I still listen to a lot of metal.
Anyone a fan of metal here?
Been listening to a lot of Gojira lately:
And Kreator, now that their mostly full discography is on Spotify:
I was also super huge into folk metal when I was younger and still listen to a lot of it:
I like the big band stuff:

Oh yeah I love Finntroll, thought about linking them as an example of my folk metal:
