This song will blow your mind

I saw Deafheaven when they came to my city, they put on a great show! I love when George Clark stage dives on their sets - the crowd goes wild. Sunbather is my favorite album of theirs followed by Ordinary Corrupt Human Love.

Those of you who like The Prodigy and metal (of any kind) should be happy with the "industrial noise techno" genre, as I call it.

I almost don't like ANY music with singing/voices in it. Hate it. It interferes with my thoughts.

But I do like some. Just heard this a few days ago and I liked it:

Also, like Backfire, I do enjoy some video game soundtracks. Here's a great semi-chiptune from undertale:

Next, a new-ish genre of dance/club music called Jungle Terror gets me going. It's a fusion of electronic dance music and tribal beats. When people got tired of Dubstep, Brostop, and Breakstep in the clubs, they need a loud, noisy, bumpin' successor that could still get the drunk and high idiots going. Enter the Jungle Terror genre.

Wiwek is the pioneer.

Here's a good example from Juyen Sebulba & Lil Texas:

Here's something from Wiwek:

I like Clark. Really enjoyable. Weird, though. Here's something different for those who like weird music:

Here's one more thing I like with singing:

Here's an entire playlist built around music I like with a focus on Converter:

Sufjan has a song about john wayne gacy jr. And it's amazing.

My two favorite instrumental bands are animals as leaders and corduroi

Here's animals

I can only find corduroi on stuff like bandcamp or spotify

Aw man I'd love to see Deafheaven

My fave by them is New Bermuda, but it's basically tied with Sunbather, I love them both

Thanks, I'll have a listen, shortly!

This is a good thread. Like to see new music posted that I haven't heard before. 🙂

Music is my main passion. To go into any detail about my music taste would just get really absurd really quickly. That's why I'm probs just gonna wait until people post stuff I really like and then comment on it.

Sufjan is awesome, I still need to get into him more but Illinoise is such a good album, the John Wayne Gacy tracks are heartbreaking.

DDM, if you like instrumental music, I might suggest Grails. They're one of my favourite instrumental rock groups, they kind of fuse rock and psychedelia with medieval overtones, I find them really great to write or work to. Idk if it'll be your bag, but check out Deep Politics (which, ironically, is what this thread is not about, for once) and see what you think.

Thanks for the rec, will do.

Also, yes, there was this South American instrumental metal band a gal introduced to me when we were dating, a few years back. I'll try and find them. It's good stuff. And it wasn't so noisy that it prevented me from thinking.

Still waiting to get off this testing call so I can listen to some tunes. 🙁

love them all except slipknot,

Was never really a fan of Slipknot, but I've roadied for them 3 or 4 times now and they're probably the coolest act I've met, Chris Martin from Coldplay is a really nice guy too, he asked for a rider full of booze and he doesn't even drink, he just gave it all to us lot.

Saw Bowie live at Glastonbury about 20 years ago, that's the pinnacle for me.

Here's a guy who is in cool metal bands but it's his solo bass project

did you roadie for anyone else Sam.

A few now that I think about. Not as many as some guys I work with who have been doing it for about 40 years in some cases.

Little Steven (Silvio from The Soprano's) and The Disciples Of Soul,
Slade,
Damon Albarn with his supergroup The Good, The Bad & The Queen,
Stereophonics,
Austrailian Pink Floyd (I know they're a tribute act but they're bigger than a lot of signed, original groups),
The Ting Tings (let me play on their drum kit... not a euphemism),
Ladytron,
CKY (Bam Margera's band),
Enter Shikari

and

last and definitely least... Lostprophets (I'll forget about working with them)

There are a few others too, they're the biggest probably. Looking forward to getting back into it, hopefully around October, Covid willing.

That's ****ing rad, man! Those are some good gigs.

Other than Lostprophets, of course, that's, uh... yeah.

Still, Slade, tho. I take it Slade was after Noddy Holder left? Did you speak with Dave Hill much?

Oh yeah, Noddy hasn't fronted Slade since 1992 or something like that. Dave is a funny guy, I've had a good laugh with him about Bob Mortimer's portrayal of him in those sketches he did.
