Godzilla vs Kong

Eh, there is something to what ShadowFyre said. The Monsterverse is quickly losing its internal consistency.

in 2014 it was "monsters are real, humans are basically helpless".

Kong Skull Island was "monsters are real, and this one is weak as hell"

KotM then was suddenly like "ORCA, OXYGEN DESTROYER, TECHJET, FLYING FORTRESS, DEEP SEA RESEACH, GODZILLA RADAR", which is my actual biggest complaint with the movie. The kaiju no longer pose a realistic threat to humanity in the wake of KotM, it's like "Holdo maneuver" all over again.

And now GvK expects us to believe a species that was wiped out by mooks and vulnerable to gun fire is a rival alpha to Godzilla's species, and not only that, but the sole answer to Godzilla in a post-oxygen-destroyer world. Just oxygen destroyer godzilla, problem solved. There's no need for mechagodzilla or big monkey. Also mechagodzilla, did we build this? A robot that can fight kaiju?

As it embraces the showa-era silliness it loses the logical credibility and my suspension of disbelief becomes weaker. If the introduction of tech had been slower and better explained it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Or at least if they didn't have literal kaiju mind control and the oxygen destroyer on speed dial.

Getting hard to avoid spoilers.

I will try to provide a link when I find it in English but Kongs punches cause a 4.2 on the Richter scale

Anyone who doesnt wanna get spoiled avoid the animated Godzilla vs Kong part 2 animated fight by Slick on youtube..

Dude pretty much just gave away the ending of the movie...

Pretty sure the fight doesn't go quite like that. Maybe that one move but I'm pretty sure he can't fly fly only hover so doubt he is gonna be just jetting 300 k plus tons around like that. That was pretty cool little very heiseiish animation

For anyone who gives a shit what critics think early impressions are in. They all praise the action. Like 2 out of 7 thought the humans were weak.

Just what in the actual **** do people expect these actors to do in these movies when interacting with creatures of the same proportions as we are to ants? Have an intricate and thought out debate on social injustices?

How do you expect people to act when being surrounded with chaos and destruction and creatures twice the size of entire NFL stadiums literally zipping around your city between 200 and 400 mph.

If its realism you want I suggest shitting and pissing all over yourself while babbling in terror.

And I specifically mean the characters "acting" not the story or tone

Sin Godzilla had a serious tone to it. So much so, the studio had to step in because the original story was for Godzilla to evolved once more and wipe out everything.

I mean the complaints about the acting. I love serious tones. People want better acting from the actors. That would require the actors lines be all screaming lol

What a movie!

Beware of spoilers they are all over.

1 more week for those of us in the US, I’ve heard good things... can’t wait!!

Remember when people were saying that the Godzilla we see in the trailers is just Mecha G in disguise? Lmao. I honestly can’t believe people actually bought that

You guys wanna avoid youtube the last 2 fights have been posted many times already..

Fallen to 79% pretty quickly.

But I dont think it counts as an official score until theres at least 100 (or something).

Just watched it. The fight scenes are amazing. And that is all I asked for a kaiju movie

It was my first time going to IMAX and it was amazing. No going back to regular screens. And I'd say yes, I'm really looking forward to watch it again at the theater this weekend and later this year on my tv with hbo max.

The monsters are on point, the human plot is entertaining and doesn't get too much in the way, fights are among the best I've seen and the story is simple but really cool. I just hope we keep getting more movies in this universe with Goji, there's just so many things they can do.
