Good film, but the plot armor that Kong carried every time he met Godzilla was way to be strong. Especially in their first encounter. Godzilla was in his elements, yet depth charges disoriented way to easier.
Also, Godzilla is a predator that lives at the bottom of the ocean, at one point in time his body had to evolve to make his eyesight and hearing the best of the best, yet Kong playing dead so close was enough? We know Godzilla is intelligent, but the movie made him stupid to keep Kong alive.
But the worse thing about the film is the fact that Kong’s family was wiped out by skull crawlers, yet this films want me to believe they are rivals to Godzilla’s? When in KOTM they claimed Godzilla’s rival was Ghidora.

Outside of the trailers Imo it was obvious without the axe Kong was no match for Godzilla. 1st round could be argued Zilla had the advantage in water but in round 2 Kong got straight up stomped even with the axe. He was pretty much just running for his life each Time Godzilla used atomic breath it barely touched his back and he was in immense pain a straight hit would have vaporized hím. I found it kinda stupid how easily they could duplicate an unknown power source just by getting a small sample of it.
I was honestly disappointed after watching this movie. I feel the humans were even weaker this time around, minus the little girl. After getting the two doctors from the first two films, even though they died, the cast was expended upon and all of them brought something new. This time around, I didn’t care for any of them.
The fight scenes were underwhelm coming right after KOTM. Not even the final fight compare to Rodan’s intro and his destruction of Mexico.
Overall, I would say this is the weakest of all 4 films in the monster verse.

Kickass was not the strongest person true, but the two doctors, especially the dynamic between the head doctor and the general. Especially when he showed him his watch and told him the date, that moment was impactful.
I always felt they could have went the cheesy route by making the two doctors lovers, but instead they stuck by making them good solid friends that’s been through hell.
I also felt the level of technology jump was way to high for just 10 years.
I hated the pacing of 2014 I felt the movie was flat out boring after the Death of Cranston the thing that annoyed me the most is that they cut of the fights multiple times....
In this movie while the story was pretty simple the pacing didn't feel draged out...still felt they could have shown more about hollow earth and the titan war...
Another thing that was kinda meh that they almost gave away the fights in the trailers....I mean there were only 4 of them with 3 being 3-4 minutes long and 1 that lasted about 30 seconds...

Yeah I felt the same about the 2014 one. But thankfully that and Kong made plenty of dough to justify this crossover being made.
