Here, the only thing that matters is whether the alien was lying when he talked about what the chains were used for. If he was a dishonest salesman, trying to get ppl buy those chains, then sure there might be a motivation for him to lie. However, in that actual scenario there was no good reason to. Objective people can agree on this.

it's not clear what the holding mechanism is for the star. That not even mentioning the size of the stars.

there's statements like Havok who said GLADIATOR wouldn't even get a scratch even if the ENTIRE X-Men team attacked him and that was proven false. character statements means nothing without backing.

People should learn by now that there is no feat of strength too great for the Hulk to accomplish. The writers of these books will allow it based on his power set's ability to strength amplify from here to eternity. Just like Superman gets bruised and hurt in some books, he'll come back in another and tank forces that dwarf the ones that almost laid him out in previous issues. There's really no need to run a bullshit campaign. These two particular characters can, and always will be written above the rest of the Earth hero characters.

But like it said in that post that is besides the point.

Superman breaking some chains were invalidated the moment he broke them even though the character mentioning it was invalidated the moment he said the robots were stronger than superman while hawkman and Adam strange were beating on and breaking them down them for an hour straight.

We know he can break shit. He's Superman. The feat is only valid if we have a true reference for the strength of the chains. We don't. For all we know, Nth metal could be stronger. We really don't know so if it can't be quantified, it's not a relevant feat. It's just Superman being Superman, Nothing more, nothing less.
