So "Mero" and UI Goku DO fight for a while in the upcoming chapter(as our lord carver was hoping for), and Goku appears to be doing just fine against him... He actually looks to be handling him without much difficulty, tbh. What's still unclear is if Moro is currently able to use the full breadth of Merus's power/UI. If he is, then the implications for Goku are pretty staggering. Granted, all Angels are not created equal(and Merus is definitely at the lower end of the Angel totem pole given that he is just a trainee), but still... Goku being able to operate anywhere in the Angel tier is absurd.
*But again, some clarifications/translations still need to be made before we can say anything with certainty.
Spoiler:
Merus is > Beerus?
Originally posted by PhilosophíaI mean, even though Merus is just a "trainee", he's still an Angel(albeit a low-level Angel)... So I'd certainly think he would be above Beerus by default.

So if Moro really was able to tap into the full extent of Merus's powerset(initially), and Goku matched him without much trouble, then it should put current MUI Goku above Beerus by default... Which is perfectly fine by me. It was the old "Jiren > Beerus" argument that I always had an issue with.
Of course, I still have a sneaking suspicion that even if Goku and Beerus were to fight right now, it would still be a long and grueling battle, with Goku barely managing to nudge Beerus out. Even with Goku's astronomical growth, I still don't think Tori would ever have him outright stomp Beerus. He [Beerus] has arguably been on the most asinine sliding power scale in the series.

Isn't Beerus modeled after Toriyama's cat? Or is that an internet myth?If its true I dont see Goku ever beating Beerus.
Depends on how much Tori loves his cat.
...which could still add up to Goku never winning, if he's a lazy gluttonous terror that scares the wits out of him.

Jiren also has "unlimited potential", according to Whis. It's entirely possible he'd just keep leveling up against anyone, after getting smacked around for awhile.
Originally posted by CosmicCometIt's true. Toriyama actually mentioned it in an interview.

Are there any characters that were actually modeled on someone? In terms of [character] models, I suppose "Beerus", the God of Destruction, was modeled on the 14-year-old cat currently living with us. It's called a Cornish Rex; it's a bit of a rare breed. I'm getting off-topic here, but the other day, in spite of developing a serious illness, and the vet declaring it didn't have long to live, it miraculously got better on its own, and the vet said it might be some kind of demon.

The closest thing to "in battle" unlimited potential we've seen so far is Broly. His power legitimately continued skyrocketing by orders of magnitude for the entire film -- he just wasn't able to reach SSB Gogeta's level fast enough to hang in there.

Actually wonder how'd Broly do against SSB Vegito from Black saga or Jiren

Well, he outlasted Goku in the manga, though.
And he was recovering while fighting Freeza and #17, who managed to knock him out of the ring. As Goku vs Toppo proved, that's a far cry from a KO win.
But this depends on if Jiren evolves at a rate similar, or superior, to Goku. He became a match for his GoD for a reason. Doubt a power obsessed madman like him is sitting on his laurals, while Goku's vastly improving himself.
