We saw during the beginning of Daima that it's linked to canon material, the Buu saga. They displayed canon material during the onset of the show. It being a tie in with canon material makes it canon.
With the overt plotholes that Daima left us, it really just cannot be canon to DBS -- having a few links to DBZ/DBS doesn't override the inconsistencies. For example: how do you reconcile the existence of SS4, or Shin and Kibito not being fused? Both of those plotholes(particularly the former) are absolutely incompatible with DBS canon, for starters.
So yeah... Until an official source says otherwise(or a retroactive retcon occurs), I'm just lumping Daima in the "canon-adjacent" category, alongside GT. 👆
Also, in DragonBall Daima, they show Gowasu, a character that was ONLY introduced in DragonBall Super...

But again: random links/homages like that are rendered entirely irrelevant by the existence of SS4 alone. It absolutely cannot fit into DBS canon atm, thus Daima must default to "canon-adjacent" until we have a legitimate reason to assume otherwise(by way of either explicit confirmation from an official DB source, OR a proper retcon), imo.
I wasn't expecting Daima to be non-canon either, carv(especially with all the work that Toriyama himself personally put into the project), but here we are... ermm
But please, if you can reconcile how SS4 can still jive with DBS continuity as it is written right now, I'm all ears? 😕
Sure, but what "could" happen later on down the road isn't what I'm talking about. How we should handle Daima's canonicity right now, with the information we currently have, is what I'm referring to.
I mean, Goku literally told Beerus in BoG that SS3 was his most powerful form, and he absolutely would not have had any reason to be holding back or lying -- Goku was undeniably going all-out there, yet no mention of SS4 whatsoever. In fact, sans the God ki ritual itself, Goku's only available options of powering-up beyond SS3 were either: power-stacking from the other Saiyans via regular ki-lending, or fusion. Again, no SS4.
*Nevermind the handful of other times in DBS where Goku has displayed all transformations for his opponent(from base to blue), and SS4 was never even alluded to.
So again, SS4 just doesn't/can't work in current DBS, since Daima is a prelude. Most of Daima's other plot-holes can at least be sloppily reconciled... But not that one.
