I'm enjoying seeing the meltdown of democrats over this.

And the sheer stupidity revealed by those who wanna pack the court. It will of course backfire and they know it, but they they didn't get their way so it's time to throw a tantrum.

Dude was so triggered he couldn't even understand my post. talk about sad.

Hilariously they didn't break any rules for the appointments and they aren't the ones talking about packing the courts, seems like some ppl have this twisted.

Now congress should start to actually legislate rather then use judicial activism to drive their agenda.

And if they pack the courts...when the republicans eventually retaliate with the same the democrats will throw a fit.

They will argue(incorrectly) that their court packing was an attempt to balance the courts, but the mean republicans have villainous reasons for doing it.

Yep and in a way this reminds me of the people who threw a fit over brexit results and wanted a do over. They didn't like the outcome of something so instead of accepting it the only course of action in their minds was to do anything they can to try to negate it.

And of course those tactics are fine so long as they are the ones doing it(it's the same with censorship, they are fine with it as long as others are the ones censored).

And in the end it just comes off like they feel they are owed a "liberal" court. As if it should be a given that they control it.

The best part is people in government(democrats) have been acting like they are breaking some rules. They even act like republicans are the ones court packing.

I realize this has been a rough few weeks for them though.

Do you not understand what "pack the courts" means? Let me assist you: Under McConnell, very few judicial appointments were giving the green light, McConnell wanted to keep those spots open for the next President he knew could be a Republican. Similar with what he did regarding Merrick Garland, but this was done many times over for the lower court appointments. This is why Trump is constantly bragging about appointing so many judges, it's because McConnell played dirty in the preceding years.

You're welcome.

Yes I do understand what packing the courts mean, which is why I know Republicans haven't done it.

Did you have anything else to add to that fact?

Dude, see above. McConnell absolutely played dirty during Obama's last term so Republicans could pack the courts over the last four years.

So you're going to ignore reality and what McConnell did. Okay then.

The Republicans didn't court pack. I'm sorry if you can't accept this reality, but that isn't what they did. What McConnell did is not what democrats screaming "pack the courts" mean. You know this. The fact you don't like what they did is as relevant as a gnat's fart.

Some advice: do not be disingenuous in your next response 👆

The facts don't agree or care about your views, Surt.

Just try and be as opened minded when the Democrats do similar, okay?

That's kind of how the game is played, though. I doubt one would find an example of the Dems having an option that gives them political advantage, and going "Nuh uh, one step too far. We want to play fair."
Actually there are quite a few examples of this. Look at the processes they employed to get Obamacare passed versus what the Republicans did to get Trump's tax cuts pushed through.

The democrats followed just about every guideline that been the norm for congress to that point. The Republicans straight up broke them to get Trump's tax cuts through like when it was revised and not giving the Dems or independent analysis time to review it.

I'm not going to say the Dems are perfect but if they are jay walking the Republicans are straight running people over.

Robbie is disingenuous in almost everything he posts though. It's par for the course for him.

The facts are on my side: republicans didn't create new seats like the democrats want. They didn't pack the courts.

Some advice: put the shovel down.

Yea no the jay walking analogy isn't valid. This is how it always is though "dems bad, repubs super bad".

I mean the fact you're resorting to try and win on a technical definition instead of the spirit of conversation kind proves you understand that what Mitch did then and now is dirty.

Bingo.

When the Democrats regain power, they need to do what the Republicans always do, give two middle-fingers to bipartisanship and do whatever it takes to get their agendas done.
