I think my personal opinion is that I would prefer RE2 like remakes for games that utilize a very old way on gameplay. The original Resident Evil games controlled like shit so I was happy when they re-did the entire game using a much better perspective.. and RE2 Remake showed that you can still have a similar experience.

With games like Mass Effect series, there is nothing inherently wrong with how the gameplay works. There is a issues so its nice they are cleaning that stuff up...but seeing the game with 4K textures and upgrading lightening could be great and something I am willing to buy considering its one of my favourite gaming series (and argue best trilogy in game history).

For instance, I loved Dead Space and could play that game forever and it doesn't need a remake. But while playing RE8, I would love to see Dead Space with 4K textures, remove the jaggies and have some HDR/Ray tracing goodness and I would be the first person in line.....but I wouldn't want them to change anything.
(well maybe the annoying asteroid sequence)

They did not control like shit. How dare you.

But I do agree that past a certain point, there's no reason to remake a game to the extent RE2 was. Sure, look at the proposed RE4 one. Mechanically the game is not that old, and with a HD pack it looks really, really nice.

Heresy.

Meh, they did suck. I believe they even modified them to control better when they made the remake.

RE4 remake is definitely less needed than something like Code Veronica (that people didn't really play)...but they are supposedly going to a more modern control scheme, which should make the game better.

They should remake the first RE game.

Tank controls are fine. You can not like them, but it definitely doesn't suck. It works great for the game.

I'm also not onboard with an REmake game. It's survival horror perfection. I'd rather they remake 4 or CV first. Better yet, just put it all towards new entries.

It's clearly two different teams doing so....so we can have both.

I think it may be more than two teams doing RE games. RE2Remake and RE3Remake were like a year apart, and then another year later is RE8. Think they may have 3 teams doing these games at this point.

As far as tank controls go, they were fine when the game was released but they have aged horribly for me. I'll probably never play the first RE game again because those controls are so hard to go back to now that I've gotten used to functional controls.

I know there's multiple teams. I'm saying I'd rather have both teams on new entries. The main team can keep making their horror based first person games and the OTS third person team cam make new entries with older characters or something. Just anything that adds to and progresses lore.

...why? The first RE1 remake's already perfect. Remaking RE3 again I can understand since that one's actually garbage.

Few tidbits about the games:

-Bonus weapon talents are unlocked after one playthrough of the game
-There are 3 platinum trophies - one for each game in the trilogy
-Power achievements count player use and player-ordered use (so you can order Liara to use Lift and get credit for the achievement)
-All ME1 difficulties are unlocked by default from the start

A few people have gotten their copies in the mail already, and have posted screenshots on the Mass Effect subreddit.

Obviously if you haven't played the games, there are spoilers. Sort of.

I'm not sure Bioware will leave it alone, so watch it while it's fresh.

They will probably remove it...but I don't see why they would. It's Mass Effect.....aside from looking better....its still the same game that was release over 10 years ago.

You'd think that, and I'd think that, but I read that Bioware was getting tweets gettign taken down that contained screenshots of the LE.

So who knows.

The hell? This barely looks better.

Agreed.

May as well stick with ME1 classic.

I'm just excited to play the first ME game on a console with 60 fps.

And that's perfectly fine.

For my part, I reduce the frame rate to 30 fps on pc when possible. Borderlands The Pre Sequel for example.

You get a steadier experience imo and can handle higher visual settings. And the fifth gen and last gen was mostly 30 fps gaming anyways.

Whatevers steadiest for me, over highest.

Yes and Mass Effect was sub 30FPS and got bogged down whenever large amount of units hit the screen.

But 4k, better lighting effects, quick load times and 60FPS....whats not too love.

So essentially the PC version?

I'm being facetious, obviously, but still... I can't help but laugh.
