Rogal Dorn is a scrub! Folded like a house of cards against jobber chaos fleets.

Doom Slayer would have beaten the forces of chaos single handedly.

Heretic. You take that back.

This came up in another thread, but things like the lighting and the sound design are part of the gameplay too. I, personally, don't want them changed. I mean, sure, you can improve the quality of the lighting, but if they completely remove that weird, hazy lens-flareyness of the first one, I think that would be a net negative.

And "you can just play the old one" isn't as easy if you don't have a pc, to be fair.

Ugh, I just remembered that all three of the originals came out on PS3/360. Damn, time flies.

Better, but not by much.

For lighting, I think that can be a different situation entirely.

People talk a lot about artistic vision and all that, and point to the fact that the first ME game seems to have much darker lighting than the photos shown of the remaster. But it's very possible that the lighting used in the original game was not so much because of artistic vision but because of technical limitations at that time. A lot of games back then had a darker ambient tone to help mask bad image quality and low resolution textures - if it's dark, you don't see them as well. I have no idea if that was the case with ME, but since the lighting seems to be changed in this new version, it's very possible that that is how the developers initially wanted the game to look, but couldn't because of technical limitations, in which case, this new version would be closer to their artistic vision than the original was.

For me, I do kind of like the darker, moodier lighting in the original. But I don't really care very much. I'd much rather the gameplay be made to not be trash. And I think the lighting shown looks quite nice, just a bit different. It would be nice if they added various filters to the game so players could choose for themselves what mood they'd like to have while playing the game. Demon's Souls remake has this and it's very cool.

I agree for the most part. A filter would be very handy to have.

So to anyone that's played the trilogy (or part of it) before, are you planning to do anything differently this time? Maybe let someone die that you didn't before? Romance someone else? Be Renegade when you usually went Paragon or vide versa?

It's been awhile so I will probably play the trilogy with decisions that I see are the best.

For romance, it's always going to be Liara and Miranda...and maybe Liara or Miranda.

😂

It's good to have favourites.

I only romance her in the first game, but I am looking forward to seeing how good Liara looks. We've only seen a bit of her so far, but it looks like they fixed her face.

Haha. Yeah I don't want to get down with racist...or I guess alien racist.

Yeah. I respect that Ashley is a well-written character with depth, but she's still at odds with Shepard's mission of ingratiating humanity in to the wider galactic community. Space-racism will do that. Though she was pretty hot in 3, all things considered.

Yeah...I always let her die.

Graphic stuff....

PS4 Up to 60fps and 1080p Up to 30fps and 1080p
PS4 Pro Up to 60fps and 1440p Up to 30fps and 4K
PS5 Up to 60fps and 1440p Up to 60fps and 4K
Xbox One Up to 60fps and 1080p Up to 60fps and 1080p
Xbox One X/Xbox Series S Up to 60fps and 1440p Up to 30fps and 4K
Xbox Series X Up to 120fps and 4K Up to 60fps and 4K

Yeah, I've never been much for Ashley either. It's all Kelly and Miranda for me.

Lol @ 120 on the series x. Mine just came in yesterday, but I don't have a single screen in my house that can run that many frames.

She has some legitimate points though. Space diversity is good and all, but nothing wrong in making humanity your first priority when everyone else is taking a "And what has humanity done for us lately. Screw you guys, good luck with the Reaper invasion."

Yeah, 4k at 60FPS is good enough for me!!

Some patch notes:

Improves performance
Improves stability and fixes crashes
Improvements to Ambient Occlusion (AO)
Lighting improvements--both visual and performance-related
Miscellaneous content fixes

I thought this trilogy would be backward compatible title for the new systems..but I don't think it is.

lol, I've always let her live. Kaidan just never justified it to me. I mean, Ashley's a dick, but she's not boring. Or at least, not as boring as Kaidan is to me. If I ever do a pure biotic run though, I'll probably save him.

"Up to" are words I hate. Obviously I hope they run as well as possible, but the actual performance, especially in "busy" scenes will be interesting.

My answer to that would be that by becoming a Spectre and showing the council that humanity is willing to play ball, Shepard IS putting humanity first in a way, say, Cerberus would never achieve.

What do you mean backwards compatible?

Well I assume they have to say that because if they didn't and somebody notices the FPS dips to 54....they would be like "its not 60!" It's legalese.

I thought the trilogy would be released for the old platforms (PS4 and etc)...and would work with the new platforms through backwards compatibility. But it seems it might be dedicated version for PS5 and Series X.

Oh right, I see.

Guess that means no free upgrade if you buy it on the older consoles then.

I'm not sure though...I'm just guessing.
And I don't think it's like that.

I think the difference between old gen/new gen is purely resolution and FPS....no new lightening features and etc.

EA is releasing a optimized Series X upgrade for Fallen Jedi for free...so I don't think it's like that either....

Who knows.

They're doing something similar on the Playstation for it too @ Fallen Order.

I was wrong.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although there isn't a specific PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version just yet.
