I was wrong.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, although there isn't a specific PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version just yet.

Ah ok. I wonder if there will be any changes at a later point.

In a future update they should add the multiplayer from ME3. I find the list of excuses they make on why this is impossible lazy. One in particular that they'd have to try and port player's progress from the 360/PS3 versions. The Master Chief Collection didn't port progression from the other Halos and that was met with next to no criticism. Maybe if the sales are good and EA wants it supported longer as a result.

I honestly never played it. I wonder how much it would cost them to bring it back.

Yeah, not knowing how the MP was setup...it might cost a fortune to do so.

Halo MC is a bad example. That MP was ****ed for years.

Kind of reason why Sony is a in the shit alot with their online stuff because my understanding its not exactly portable.

As long as they say "hey there is not going to be MP", it's up to you if its worth your time or not.

At least they're not giving people false hope.

Some XBone users are reporting that the preload is up, also.

Yeah. I have dealt with systems in the past and there is times where something might not work without extensive re-work....and due to decisions made by the original developers (who might not even be there anymore).

Yeah. Few things are as finicky as the relationship between software and hardware.

I like the single player more of course so if it never gets multiplayer back, is what is. Just think it'd be a good bonus. Playing aliens is pretty fun and we'll likely never see a playable Krogan, Turian, Asari, Quarian, Volus, Vorcha, Batarian, etc. in future single players still.

I still feel like they could follow the Dragon Age template. I don't expect to play a Volus, but if we got the three council species (plus humans), I think that would be nice.

You're right. Volus would be too OP.

Exactly. I want my game to have at least some kind of challenge.

Hahahaha.

I would have liked to see Shepard ride an Elcor in to battle though. That would have been sweet.

Or those formerly extinct space dinosaurs the Salarians cloned for the Krogan to ride. Small war asset my ass-et. Krogan are riding frikkin dinosaurs.

We're getting the option to keep the old Mako controls. All hail the jank!

Yeah... no thanks. Maybe for combat, but on open-plan planets trying to get over mountains? Hell no.

Assuming this is true, I think it's really encouraging:

It's funny.

Some the comments under that are complaining that its not a full remake like RE2.

Though, if it was a full on remake, you wouldn't get all three games.

And yet people make the same stupid complaint about Final Fantasy VII's remake.

With nostalgia...you cannot win but it can be quite lucrative.

I think my personal opinion is that I would prefer RE2 like remakes for games that utilize a very old way on gameplay. The original Resident Evil games controlled like shit so I was happy when they re-did the entire game using a much better perspective.. and RE2 Remake showed that you can still have a similar experience.

With games like Mass Effect series, there is nothing inherently wrong with how the gameplay works. There is a issues so its nice they are cleaning that stuff up...but seeing the game with 4K textures and upgrading lightening could be great and something I am willing to buy considering its one of my favourite gaming series (and argue best trilogy in game history).

For instance, I loved Dead Space and could play that game forever and it doesn't need a remake. But while playing RE8, I would love to see Dead Space with 4K textures, remove the jaggies and have some HDR/Ray tracing goodness and I would be the first person in line.....but I wouldn't want them to change anything.
(well maybe the annoying asteroid sequence)
