Junior Texted Meadows Plot to Overturn Election

The House select committee investigating the Capitol attack is examining whether Donald Trump oversaw a criminal conspiracy on 6 January that connected the White House's scheme to stop Joe Biden's certification with the insurrection, say two senior sources familiar with the matter.

The committee's new focus on the potential for a conspiracy marks an aggressive escalation in its inquiry as it confronts evidence that suggests the former president potentially engaged in criminal conduct egregious enough to warrant a referral to the justice department.

House investigators are interested in whether Trump oversaw a criminal conspiracy after communications turned over by Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows and others suggested the White House coordinated efforts to stop Biden's certification, the sources said.

Two days after the 2020 presidential election, as votes were still being tallied, Donald Trump's eldest son texted then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows that "we have operational control" to ensure his father would get a second term, with Republican majorities in the U.S. Senate and swing state legislatures.

In the text, Donald Trump Jr. lays out ideas for keeping his father in power by subverting the Electoral College process. The text is among records obtained by the House select committee investigating January 6, 2021.

"It's very simple," Trump Jr. texted to Meadows. "We have multiple paths. We control them all." Trump Jr. makes specific reference to filing lawsuits and advocating recounts to prevent certain swing states from certifying their results, as well as having a handful of Republican state houses put forward slates of fake "Trump electors."

YouTube video Some good ol' fashioned dramatic irony.

More poof of treason to undue a presidential election in their own words. Trumpers as always won't care.

They'll support cokehead Donnie Junior when he runs for the POTUS nomination in a future Republican primary.

Guilty: Former police officer convicted on all charges from the January 6 attack on the Capitol

A jury found former police officer Thomas Robertson guilty Monday on charges connected to the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, handing down a conviction in one of the first court trials linked to the insurrection.

After deliberating Friday afternoon and through Monday, the jury convicted Robertson on all six charges he faced, including obstruction of an official proceeding and trespassing on restricted Capitol grounds with a dangerous weapon. -snip

Excellent 👆

Hopefully the sentencing isn't lenient.

let's hope.

The other cop (also now former) who was with him, pleaded guilty to lesser charges as part of a plea deal, has also agreed to help prosecutors. He faces up to 5yrs and a $250K USD fine. These two domestic terrorist posted pictures and video on social media to document their acts. Deplorables and idiots.

let's hope this loon gets what he deserves.

Rioters were paid to riot and create a coup to overthrow Hugo Chavez, but it didn't work because Chavez was too popular.

This is standard procedure of U.S. foreign policy since W.W.2, but I never thought it'd happen to a president of the U.S. though.

Except Trump spurred up the Jan 6th rioters and insurrections and used them as a weapon against others.

Audio reveals Kevin McCarthy planned to urge Trump to resign after Capitol riot

U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy had planned to get former President Donald Trump to resign after the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, The New York Times revealed in an audio recording Thursday.

In the recorded conversation, McCarthy, a Republican, reportedly told a group of Republican leaders that he didn't believe Trump would voluntarily step down, and contemplated rallying Congress to have him impeached a second time, saying that he believed the measure would pass both the House and Senate -snip

That plus Mitch McConnell outright blaming Trump for the Jan 6th attack/insurrection while speaking on the Senate floor. It's like key Republicans were fully aware of what Trump did, yet decided to protect Trump after the fact anyways.

"I'm not getting in that car."

- Mike Pence

Who could even run against Biden except Trump at this point?

So far, the president has sent two tweets since the Capitol was breached. One criticized Mike Pence for not trying to block the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, and the other (much less enthusiastic) one urged his supporters to “stay peaceful.”

The 2024 GOP roster is going to be rather large. Cruz, DeSantis and Ryan will be there.

I hope Kasich runs again, he's one of the very few half-decent Republicans. Which means he won't get the nom, but I still hope he runs.

So Paul Ryan it is...

Dunno if he'll get the nomination, he's been separating himself from the Trump GOP since 2018 and the Trump GOP has a lot of people.

But we're still two years away and things can change.

Ginni Thomas (Wife of Clarence Thomas SCJ) has been "invited" to appear before the Jan 6th committee and give testimony regarding her comments to Mark Meadows concerning moves to overturn the election...

They should subpoena her, dumb bastards.

If Ryan gets the nom, Biden will wipe the floor with him.

Oh, so now you're Richard Nixon back again? 😄

There's a lot of context to that line.

Thomas Webster, 56, the ex police officer and ex marine Trumper who attacked with a weapon and then tackled at least one police officer during the insurrection has been found guilty on all six charges, five felonies and one misdemeanor.

He claimed self-defense, the jury didn't buy his lies. The camera showed how unhinged and enraged he was. Hopefully he gets 20+ years in prison with no chance of early parole.

Sen. Lindsey Graham called President Biden "maybe the best person to have" following the Capitol riot.

Despite repeatedly pushing for former President Donald Trump to run for the White House again, newly released audio reveals that GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham called President Biden the “best person” to lead and unite the country following last year’s Capitol riot.

“We’ll actually come out of this stronger. Moments like this reset,” Graham (R-SC) said in the audio first aired on CNN. “People will calm down. People will say, ‘I don’t want to be associated with that.’” -snip

😆, Trumpers.
