The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol announced Thursday that the next public hearing will be held at 8 p.m. on June 9.

According to the committee, they will "present previously unseen material documenting January 6th, receive witness testimony, preview additional hearings, and provide the American people a summary of its findings about the coordinated, multi-step effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power."

Rightwing new outlets like Fox and OAN won't show the footage of the insurgents storming, kicking, breaking, attacking cops, chanting death threats etc. They're not going to air that.

The conservative ideologues on the Supreme Court are planning to time the overturning Roe v. Wade with the January 6th hearings. That way, everyone will be talking about abortion, and no one will be paying attention the insurrection.

The footage they showed was largely never before seen, but it wasn't even the most violent or disturbing. Not even close. It was pretty tame actually.

it was the most complete timeline of events put on video concerning Jan 6 that I've seen, and I had to turn it off. everyone who supports their actions or acts like it was no big deal: please end yourselves

It's sad that it's not surprising, but to me the most disturbing thing now is that Focks "News" is burying its head in the sand and not airing it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that exactly what cults do, shelter their followers from information damaging to their cause or religion?

Fox, Newsmax and OAN won't show the hearings. Tucker Carlson said something like "if something newsworthy happens, we will show it", meaning he's downplaying that Jan 6th was nothing much again.

I laughed when it came out that it was Mike Pence who ordered the National Guard, doing Trump's job for him, because Trump refused to act. Even though Trump spun it the next day that he had made the order.

Definitely needs to be charged for inciting a riot, insurrection and attempted obstruction of an election and transfer of power, among probably a slew of other crimes related to those three.

I don't believe in capitol punishment though, just lock him up for whatever is the proper sentencing after he's found guilty.

None of that is going to happen because the country would need Republicans on board to make it happen and they protect even the worst of their own.
