Why I'm asking this is because I haven't banned anything except BFR.
And Darksaint is already in 'loophole' mode with the clones [see: http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f105/t509723.html]. I think it would be unfair of me [especially to Bentley, who FACED a loophole] to ban anything else all things considered -- but I want you guys to have an input.
At best -- just in case one of you encounters a loophole in the 1-post match I can make it a two post match -- but I want you all to say if you want to or not before seeing the posts.
If nobody has any objection, or wants to make it two posts -- we'll proceed as before, 1 post, everything allowed sans BFR.
I say we search our own feelings.
If we have to ask ourselves, especially in a one post BZ, whether an ability is allowed....then it should be disallowed.
With only one post, the potential for messing about - especially as judges are meant to not bring any prior knowledge but only base their judgements on what has been presented - is too high.
To single Boks out, if I had Hulk, and I posted this scan as proof that Hulk can fly:
And my opponents had no chance to refute it due to the limitations of one post....well, you can see how shenanigans can be pulled.
It's a bit of a different argument, sure, but a similar vein.
man, can you not edit that and make it smaller?? and they call me grampa....
i think something like you posted would be blatantly lying though, and i don't think anyone would do that. if they did, they could be called out after and disqualified. phil isn't talking about outright misleading scans--at least i don't think he is. i think he just wants to know whether all abilities displayed by a character should be considered valid. REALL abilities--not the misleading variety.
did i get that right phil?
Yes, I think Darksaint is using an example that would be blatantly untrue but I'm talking about abilities that would be considered loopholes [cloning, time travelling, stuff like this]. It's risky in a one-post tourney to have game changing abilities like this with no counter even attempted [i.e. they HAVE to be taken at face value, since it has no counter-argument and the opponent can't argue why it wouldn't work] -- which is why I asked to see what other people think about the 1-post limit, at least.
I don't want to use any specific examples -- but the gist of it is clear at least.
Or, I dunno, imagine a one-post Animal Man copying a kryptonian, dr light, Flash and Nabu to get a Lord of Order Sundipped kryptonian time clone army -- and nobody gets to counter any of that. I know, it's a very extreme example [lol], but even the simples ones can be "well, I have to go by what he said".
Essentially the questions are:
1). Is EVERYTHING sans BFR allowed?
2). Is one-post ok with everybody, or do you want counters?
The 2). point is essentially solely for the 1-post match-up but the first is for the whole tourney.
