Democrats Pass 1.9 Trillion Coronavirus Relief Package

Senate Passes $1.9 Trillion Coronavirus Relief Package

The Senate approved President Biden's $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan Saturday, securing additional aid for American families, workers and businesses — and a legislative victory for the Biden administration.

After more than 24 hours of debate, the evenly divided Senate voted 50-49 to approve the measure. Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan of Alaska was absent because he was in Alaska for a family funeral.

The package would deliver a new round of financial assistance to Americans grappling with the impact of the pandemic, including $1,400 direct payments, an extension of supplemental unemployment benefits and an increase to the child tax credit.

Individuals earning up to $75,000 and couples earning up to $150,000 would receive the full direct payments of $1,400 per person. But those payments would phase out for individuals and couples who make more than $80,000 and $160,000, respectively. -snip

Democrats passed this without a single Republican vote. It sucks they didn't get the min-wage increase in this, but scuttlebutt is it's going back up as its own bill, hopefully all Democrats will be on board then.

You're most welcome, Trumpers. Enjoy the cash.

Like I really give a shit. The democrats don't give a damn about us common folk.

I'm sure their "relief package" had a bunch of left-wing BS in it and had actually very little to do with any relief to Americans who've been suffering from this lockdown BS over an overhyped virus that has over a 99% survival rate lol.

Tbf though, many so-called "republicans" don't give a shit about us either. They are basically democrat-lites.

You will enjoy that check when it comes your way though 👆

Anyone that wants to refuse their check PM me and I’ll send you the routing number to a bank account that you can send it directly to.

didn't trump announce the lockdown?

So $1.9T divided by 300M let's say.

That's $6,333.34 per American.

Yet the checks are only $1,400.

Let me guess, pork?

Clearly they care $1,400 per person more than the Republicans do.

Lmao. No one said anything about refusing their check. Only an idiot would turn down "free" money so that is a strawman argument.

Though it isn't really free is it? Anyone who thinks it is isn't very bright. But yeah, you bet your ass I'm gonna use the money but nah, I will not be thankin' the baby killing dems for giving me a little bit of money because of a problem they were instrumental in creating in the furst place with all of these BS lockdowns over a joke of a virus.

*waits for some brainwashed snowflake leftist to come along and spout some shit about "high death rates" which would of course be a lie*

Ugh... couldn't edit.... again.

Meant to say *first* above, not "furst.

LOL at any poor, gullible fools who actually think the democrats passed this "relief package" to help out any suffering Americans.

Their primary purpose was to further their left wing causes and attempt to distract folks with some bread crumbs in the form of "free money" lol.

You're the only one thinking about that national debt.

I kind of feel like you've been going down the libertarian rabbit hole. If you are you definitely wanna read about the federal reserve.

It's free to people who don't pay taxes.

Its not just giving out payments to individuals. Its boosting the economy in different ways.

The Republican version (for instance) gave nothing to individuals. Because apparently even in a global pandemic its immoral to give people hand outs (from their own tax money no less).

anyone who doesn't want their checks, let me know and i know give you my Cashapp so you can directly transfer it to me

Best way to boost the economy is to give money to the middle class so they can spend it.

The best way to boost the economy is remove state intervention, taxation, and inflation.

It’s alright, probably the best we can expect from the Democrats.
