Gun control in the US

The president does not have absolute power. He is not a king or emperor.

Not really. Presidents actually have relatively little power compared to the legislature and judicial branchs.

I mean, any random judge can block a presidential order. Not even federal judges, some county nobody can do it.

And as far as city and state stuff goes, the feds are really supposed to keep to their own side of the fence. For example, say you have a state where they up and decide to let everyone smoke crack out in the open. The feds aren't really supposed to storm the place and start arresting people. They could camp on certain roads and areas, but they don't get to act like stormtroopers and move into towns and cities and do what they want.

But the president does have great power as well. He veto power is pretty impressive and so is his ability to pardon anyone he wants for any reason he likes. Hell, he doesn't even have to give a reason for doing it and no judge can block that.

He can order drone strikes on anyone anywhere in the world for any reason. The SC court doesn't have the power to do that nor can they stop him from doing it . He can also order entire fleets to move and attack on his whim. SC can do nothing like that.

Our three branches of government are pretty much equal in power. They provide checks and balances against each other, or at least they're supposed to when they're functioning properly.

James Madison Academy is not a real high school, yet without realizing it, former NRA president David Keene accepted an invitation to address what he thought was going to be its graduating class of 2021.

Instead, the 3,044 chairs in the audience were left completely unoccupied. And not because it was a dress rehearsal as Keene was told, but to represent all of the should-have-been 2021 high school graduates who were killed by gun violence, "The Lost Class."

The stunt was devised by Change the Ref, an organization deeply involved in the gun control movement. Founded by Manuel and Patricia Oliver, who's son Joaquin was tragically killed in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida.

In theory, yeah. The problem with the judicial is it seems like the only thing really keeping them in check are other judges. At least in practice.

You rarely, if ever, hear of the other two branches meddling in judicial affairs (Unlike vice versa, where the courts step in all the time say say "Uh uh uh, you can't do that."

And then there's the outright legislation from the bench stuff.

Like the commerce clause becoming a catch all to prevent a law abiding citizen from growing wheat in their own back yard, because of its affect on interstate commerce if everyone became self sustaining.

A total BS verdict, and a clear example of judicial overreach.

Yes, it is.... but any judge can be removed if the House impeaches him or her and the senate convicts. The trouble is that the House and Senate are filled with corruption as well and so they will let the judges get away with stuff that they shouldn't be able to.

I would say that is where the voters come in and that they can remove any politician if he or she isn't doing their job properly but when you consider the fact that the deep state now controls who wins elections (as shown by our last election which was overflowing with all kinds of fraud) and not the actual voters that point would be rendered null and void. Seems like corrupt judges and corrupt politicians protect each other (and of course the fake media and people like Soros are in on it as well).

It is pretty obvious to me that our system is just broken now and needs a complete overhaul if the country is to have any hope of being saved.

I think the biggest problem with your system is the president has the power to appoint a new judge on the Supreme Court, and it’s always some ****er with ties to the president.

I don't view that as a problem. It's just one of the major perks of being president. As long as the person who is president was actually legitimately put there by the people then he or she should have that right to appoint judges.

I think the house or senate should appoint the judges. I don’t think it’s wise to have the executive and judiciary tied together.

The senate still has to confirm his judges though. It's not like his appointed judges are just automatically put on the court as soon as he appoints them.
