@SquallX not everyone drives and not everyone flies. In fact many poorer voters in Urban areas never get these things.
Which is the point. These types of laws generally negatively impact poor urban voters which in our country tend to be overwhelmingly minorities.
The Georgia voter law also allows the Georgia State legislature to override and put in superintendents in counties to oversee or make final judgments on elections.
Considering the Georgia legislature is overwhelmingly Republican this could allow GOP to make rulings in their favor in counties like Fulton( I think this is the name of the country)
Also the bill standardizes times in counties to 9-5. Counties have the option to expand those times from 7 to 7 but most were already doing that. Once again these times generally effect poorer working class urbanites.
And the water and food provisions are down right draconian considering that Georgia cut down the number of polling places which overwhelmingly, you guessed it, effected Urban areas. Where people could be standing in line for many hours with people talking about waiting in line for up to 5-10 hours just to vote.
So yeah this bill is most definitely targeting urbanites which in Georgia are almost overwhelming minority. In that regards this bill is most definitely racists.
And if you don't believe the Republicans won't abuse their new found election powers in upcoming elections well I live in Ohio where they've abused their power to gerrymander districts and gain a super majority for ten years even though the state is very much closer to being split. Then they used that power to get strong conservative measures passed even though once again the state is closer to 50/50 in terms of voting patterns.
