Two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea "Shaye" Moss, filed a defamation lawsuit Thursday against One America News Network and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, saying they were defamed by false claims that they committed ballot fraud in connection to the 2020 election. The lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. says One America News Network, a right-wing cable news channel, accused Freeman and Moss, both Fulton County, Georgia election workers, of ballot fraud even after election officials proved that the allegations were wrong.
The right-wing cable network One America News Network on Monday ran a pre-recorded 30-second segment acknowledging that there was "no widespread voter fraud" by Georgia election workers in the 2020 presidential election. The segment appears to be part of a recent settlement relating to a defamation lawsuit brought against the network by two such workers.
The segment notes that an investigation by state officials into unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud made by Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani turned up nothing. "The results of this investigation indicate that Ruby Freeman and Wandrea 'Shaye' Moss did not engage in ballot fraud or criminal misconduct," a narrator states.

MyPillow CEO and vocal election conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell came to the steps of the Colorado Capitol on Tuesday to headline a rally claiming to promote "election truth." Also present was secretary of state candidate and embattled Republican Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, who faces felony and misdemeanor charges related to a security breach in the Mesa County elections office.Colorado’s Independent Ethics Commission is investigating Peters, as well, for allegations she accepted gifts for her legal defense that exceed the limit allowed by state law. Speaking to reporters before his address, Lindell revealed that he gave as much as $800,000 to a legal defense fund for Peters. According to Jane Feldman, former executive director of the commission,"If you are not a close friend or family member of a elected official or a public employee in Colorado, you can only give someone a gift of $65 per calendar year."
Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, along with her deputies Belinda Knisley and Julie Fisher, will not be allowed to oversee 2022 elections in the county, a Colorado district judge ruled Tuesday, marking the second time Peters has been removed from the same post.
Judge Valerie Robison's ruling follows two days of testimony last month in a lawsuit brought by Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold to prevent Peters, Knisley, and Fisher from being the designated election official in the upcoming Mesa County primary and midterm elections.
In March, Peters and Knisley were indicted on multiple felony and misdemeanor counts by a county grand jury after an investigation into an election security breach in the Mesa County clerk and recorder's office.
