Grundy vs Wolverine

Grundy performs well against Superman, but we should always ask ourselves... if that's not Superman simply jobbing to him?

It's not Supes Jobbing, an often ignored power of Grundy is his ability to absorb energy. His body is particularly partial to magic energy but it also absorbs all types of radiation (including solar energy, which Superman is a walking battery of).

Pre 52 Grundy doesn't have as many "versions" as people think. When he fights against street levellers or ordinary bricks who aren't also loaded with energy he can drain (or flinging that energy around) he simply isn't as powerful as when he is near high energy sources. As Logan doesn't present him the energy source that Superman or Alan Scot or Dr Fate would, he shouldn't be on that level

Wasn't aware of that. For all intents and purposes consider he's getting boosted as if Wolverine was Superman, Alan or Doctor Fate

I also assumed n52 Grundy was in the thread, or is that overkill?

Yeah a lot of people aren't.
In his first appearance in the GA in All American (60 or 61/2) he was originally only anlow level brick for most of it. Alan fired a green lantern construct at him which he touched and it dissolved and he got stronger.

Next appearance the energy bubble Alan made wasn't going to hold until it got reinforced by Fate. In a silver age story he regenerinba swamp that someone was dumping nuclear waste and fought both Alan and then Fate (absorbing some of one of Fate's spells) he got so amped he gained TK power and was throwing everything including the kitchen sink at Alan without even touching it.

When he fought the likes of Nuklon (before he was called Atom Smasher) and Fury in Infinty Inc he struggles to outmatched Nuklon (who without using his power to alter his mass or his density to add to his striking power is only about a 70 tonner). Yet when he later fought PG he's a match for her. There was a JSA story where he got struck by a lightning bolt and was stated on panel to be the most powerful he'd ever been because of it. There are a dozen or so other examples. The problem is some writers don't show it as the case
