Someone claimed it was a quarter of the population.

Over 300 million, I think their math might be a little off. 🙂

Still far too many deaths.

Yeah, your hypocrisy and your lies are bad enough, but your shitty attitude on top of that means you're going too far. When you get back, I suggest you keep your conspiracy theories where they belong.

Pr is sure one busy mod, lol.

When Doctor Fauci and Joe Biden does the same thing Trump did, it is suddenly no longer racist.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been criticized for a remark about COVID-19 that some have deemed to be "racist."

When Donald Trump was president, he described COVID-19 as the "Chinese virus." Legacy media, politicians, and talking heads lashed out and condemned the term – calling it "racist" and "xenophobic." There were articles declaring that calling COVID-19 the "Wuhan virus" is "inaccurate and xenophobic." While in office, Trump was sued by the Chinese American Civil Rights Coalition for referring to COVID-19 as the "Chinese virus" and "Wuhan virus."

One of President Joe Biden's first executive orders condemned racism and xenophobia against Asians.

The Biden administration stated in January, "During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, inflammatory and xenophobic rhetoric has put Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) persons, families, communities, and businesses at risk."

The order calls for members of the federal government to not reference the origin of COVID-19.

"The Federal Government must recognize that it has played a role in furthering these xenophobic sentiments through the actions of political leaders, including references to the COVID-19 pandemic by the geographic location of its origin," the order reads. "Such statements have stoked unfounded fears and perpetuated stigma about Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and have contributed to increasing rates of bullying, harassment, and hate crimes against AAPI persons. These actions defied the best practices and guidelines of public health officials and have caused significant harm to AAPI families and communities that must be addressed."

This week, Dr. Anthony Fauci – the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden – made a statement about COVID-19 that made a reference to Wuhan, China.

During an appearance on Fox Business on Friday, Fauci – the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease – used the term "Wuhan strain" during the interview.

"You hear me talk a lot about boosters, and the reason I do is that if you look at the vaccination, we were vaccinated against the original, what we call 'ancestral' or 'Wuhan strain,' yet when you get antibodies from that vaccination and when you get boosted, the level of protection spills over to delta, alpha, beta and very likely will spill over to omicron," Fauci said on "Cavuto: Coast to Coast."

Reactions on Twitter slammed Fauci for using the origin of COVID-19 – which was decried as "racist" and "xenophobic" when uttered by the Trump administration.

Dave Rubin – host of "The Rubin Report" on BlazeTV – said, "Anthony Fauci is a racist."

Robby Starbuck – a music video director and congressional candidate in Tennesse – tweeted, "I remember when they said it was racist to call COVID the Wuhan strain or the Wuhan Flu. Now Fauci admits it!"

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) proclaimed, "Fauci finally said what we’ve always known: this was the Wuhan virus."

Former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright snarked, "Science has spoken."

Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller sarcastically mocked, "More rank bigotry and xenophobia from Fox News guests. There is no bottom."

President Biden was also recently blasted as a "hypocrite" for banning travel from eight African nations after previously declaring that travel bans don't work and accusing Trump of "xenophobia" for travel bans enacted during his administration.

Omicron variant may have picked up a piece of common-cold virus

The Omicron variant of the virus that causes COVID-19 likely acquired at least one of its mutations by picking up a snippet of genetic material from another virus - possibly one that causes the common cold - present in the same infected cells, according to researchers.

This genetic sequence does not appear in any earlier versions of the coronavirus, called SARS-CoV-2, but is ubiquitous in many other viruses including those that cause the common cold, and also in the human genome, researchers said.

By inserting this particular snippet into itself, Omicron might be making itself look "more human," which would help it evade attack by the human immune system, said Venky Soundararajan of Cambridge, Massachusetts-based data analytics firm nference, who led the study posted on Thursday on the website OSF Preprints. -snip

Disclaimer: This is for jokes, the pandemic is actually still a threat and this thread should be taken seriously.

Good things about the pandemic:

1. Everyone has finally realised that every politician is a lying scumbag who is either a rich **** or a pompous college graduate who kissed up to whatever bullshit they learned to suit the agenda of their professors who which they picked better careers, but can at least look more intelligent than the people they're trying to relate to because they have a basic understanding of numbers.

2. No more shitty star wars movies or any crappy generic action/disney films because everyone's dying now. This may also be because people would rather watch funny normies doing crazy insane shit on the internet and making dank memes than the stupid click bait articles that shove 3,000 adverts on the page before you can even read it... only to make you think you're stupid.

3. People are much more friendlier when in public because we haven't seen each other in a long time. We're more polite in keeping our distance, we're covering our mouths when we cough, and we wish each other good health and prosperity. All it took was white people actually dying from something for a change.

4. I can't really think of another, but it might have something to do with China.

Americans suddenly care about Uyghur Muslims.

COVID Death Rate 2.7X Higher in Trump Counties

Since May 2021, people living in counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump during the last presidential election have been nearly three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as those who live in areas that went for now-President Biden. That is according to a new analysis by NPR that examines how political polarization and misinformation are driving a significant share of the deaths in the pandemic.

NPR looked at deaths per 100,000 people in roughly 3,000 counties across the U.S. from May 2021, the point at which vaccinations widely became available. People living in counties that went 60% or higher for Trump in November 2020 had 2.7 times the death rates of those that went for Biden. Counties with an even higher share of the vote for Trump saw higher COVID-19 mortality rates.

Republican voters are currently dying of COVID-19 at rates 2–5 times higher than Democratic voters. They are already a minority of registerd voters, so this is not good for them.

oh that's just f*cking great.

It's also much milder.

Assuming it even exists at all. 😛

See, I told you this thing was a phony. Now they're trying to convince us it is the common cold (even though we already knew this thanks to Breitbart and Infowars.) 🙂

I don't get flu vaccines anyway, so I'll take my chances with this new flu variant mutated with flu that I get all the time anyway. I'm only putting old people's lives in danger. 👆

You'll outlive us all.

it's not proven that omicron is less severe. there is suggesive evidence, nothing more. take a moment to stop spewing lies out of your cvnt mouth
