But he's still majority shareholder right?

He owns the thing, and can appoint whatever CEO he wants. Odds are he wanted to step down all anyways, but couldn't justify it to himself, hence the poll.

Yes hes not selling it. But will have to step down as head of Twitter.

I doubt he planned it that way (although making the poll means he had to be willing to step down). The reason I dont think it was all part of the plan is because his polls on stopping the suspension of the journalists who doxed him didnt go his way either (he was clearly expecting it to given he gave it a second attempt by changing the wording).

So like I said, hes essentially fired himself, which might be a first.
