I'm not sure if the baby is self aware, if they are then abortion isn't a goo thing, but that early i doubt it, baby's don't have a memory, and cont remember stuff properly till they are 3 or 4

what do you think of condoms and the morning after pills if they are not self aware.

also suppose the baby is grossly mutated, what about that.

not really too much to do with the main issues but did you know that in wisconsin senator feingold was going to introduce a bill that would let parents "abort" their babies 24 hours after birth?

yea abortion means termination of pregnancy.....that would be murder if they killed it 24 hours after its born.......anyway i am pro-choice....if a girl is raped or if the mother will get hurt they should be able to have an abortion..and its not murder then...they abort very early in the pregnancy and it isn't even a baby yet..just an egg

I still don't get why "if a girl is raped" is used so often as a main reason for abortion. Rape pregnancies are extremely rare. Forget the official number but it's somewhere around 200 a year in the US.

I'm not arguing against abortion I just don't think that's a valid reason to allow it for everyone.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed for rape victims.. I'm not even saying abortion shouldn't be allowed, I think anyone should have the choice. I just don't get why if the reason you want to allow abortion is for rape victims and women with medical problems, why you wouldn't just allow it for those people. It doesn't justify everyone being allowed to get an abortion, only rape victims and women with medical problems.

I'm not disagreeing that abortion should be legal, I just don't get why everyone uses that as their reason. We could easily only legalize it for rape victims and women who need it due to medical problems. The only valid reason I can see that everyone should be allowed to get an abortion is people's individual rights.

Abortion shouldn't be illegal because there is no reason why it should be. If you don't believe in abortion, don't have one. Just dont restrict others who are pro choice by making it illegal.

Well Afro Chees, many of us don'T use that as an arguement, since you are absolutely right and it isn't a valid arguement. None the less its not a baby.

Instances in which a pregnancy threatens the health of the women or is the result of rape are not as morally ambiguous as instances in which a pregnancy is unwanted for other reasons. Most people will accede that an abortion is justified in these cases, which is why they are brought up so freqently in these arguments.

If you are saying that we could easily legalize it for only rape victims and people who need it due to medical problems, then you're just plain wrong.

Would women have to prove that they were raped? 'Cause that can be extremely hard. And if they didn't have to prove it, then what point do the stipulations have? Should the woman have to go through an entire court case to ensure that she was indeed raped in order to get an abortion? Y'know, by that time the child would probably be alive and in middle school.

This is why abortion must be available as a choice to all. Putting restrictions on it will not affect the people some consider to be the "worse offenders" and it will hurt those who desperately need it.

Back to the main topic, however. As long as no sentient life is destroyed, there is no crime.

Just thought this would fit the conversation.
