My brain suffers a meltdown over a statement like “any one of them could have been the next Nobel Prize winner or the doctor who found a cure for the major diseases of our times.”

Let me say this:

“Any one of the girls/women who were FORCED to bear a child they did not want and raise it could have been the next Nobel Prize winner or the doctor who found a cure for a major disease of our times. And the guys who were forced to work to support them likewise.”

CARE – for crying out loud – about the people who already DO exist and live, who have names and families, who MATTER… STOP caring for a bunch of cells who may have been the next Manson or Hitler or Stalin… YES, silly argument, isn’t it???

Interesting point.

What is also interesting is that legally, if someone were to kill a pregnant woman, the death of the foetus doesn't count as murder.

Only if the baby was born, and then died as a result of the attack, could charges be brought, and the charge would be constructive manslaughter.

I know. If she did, I wouldn't have known. Nor would I have had an opinion on life, or for that matter a life to be lost. If I were conscious and my birth would cause my parents to struggle, I'd have had myself aborted because I'm not selfish. Ironic that the pro-abortionists claim to be against being selfish yet it's mostly because they don't like abortion.
