Some questions for everyone here:
1. Pro choice or pro life?
2. How long have you been PC or PL?
3. Is there any time when pro choicers would not fully support an abortion?
4. Is there any time when pro lifers would accept an abortion?
5. Should a fetus be afforded more rights once the viability stage has been reached?
6. What do you think about partial birth abortion?
7. Are there too many abortions each year?
8. How can we reduce the abortion ratio?
My answers:
1. About 95% Pro choice.
2. I have been pro choice for only a few months. I used to be very,. very pro life, but I listened to what some pro choicers had to say, and realised they were right.
3. I only support abortion if it is 100% necessary after viability.
4. Can't answer.
5. I believe that a fetus should afforded more rights once viability has been reached. The rights of the fetus should never supercede the mothers, but I think it deserves more rights than it had at, say, 12 weeks.
6. I find partial birth abortion repelling. It should only be carried out when absolutely necessary.
7. Here, there are an estimated 90,000 abortions per year. One in four pregnancies end in abortion. That, to me, is far too many. In the USA, there are around 1.25 million abortions each year. That, too, is too many. I would assume most abortions are carried out because no contraception was used, which is sad, considering how much of it there is.
8. More sex education in schools, more promotion of contraception in newspapers and magazines etc, would be a good start.
