Well basing a strong strand on current law realizing that society today isn't society tomorrow is just a wash.
The underlying values have different meanings, ie science today has changed from yesterday will change tomorrow same with law.
It's a topic to pick and choose lightly when looking to base moral grounds on things that change with the "times."

Okay, I respect every religion and stuff but no one has the right to decide if I want to have children. Not even God, Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna or whoever.
There is not any god present when I need advice on anything, and that's okay. I'm not helpless, I can think for myself. And I don't wanna decide the fate of ANY unborn baby, 'cause that's wrong, I'm talking about my own baby.
And I know now that no one's gonna get me but God will never actually have the right to decide. I mean, she's not gonna walk into the White House to practice her rights and speak her mind about abortion. So it's up to us.
