The fact that killing is an act; murder, manslaughter etc are all different variations of this act. Euthanasia is killing too. Laws were set up to differentiate between different kinds of killing so people were not charge unjustly. If someone says "Please kill me.", and someone obliges, they do not deserve the same punishment as someone who stabbed a woman for her purse.

There is no real difference, killing is killing. How people choose to differentiate is arbitary and so are laws.
