Freddy WAS out for revenge, but only until he killed all the kids of the parents, then he just spread his wings out and found himself more. That's what Freddys Dead was about, wanting to branch out to new towns, so he could kill out of more than revenge and just the pleasure to kill.
Jason, though, was also out for revenge in the start. For the death of his mother. So, that disproves that theory.
And I dunno hor Freddy will get Jason. Maybe when he's in one oh his "dead before he's regenerated" stages Freddy can sneak in. We'll just have to wait and see.
