Yeah it's...there's nothing wrong with Shalla-Bal as Surfer, but this is the origin of the FF. Explaining where they've been in the MCU since the 60's. It makes no sense to introduce a character who wouldn't even exist as the replacement for Surfer without the original. If you're doing the origin, use the original Silver Surfer. Shalla-Bal can be introduced down the line after Norrin has run his course and it makes sense to bring her in to take over. This is like having She-Hulk replace Thing on the team right out the gate with no explanation as to why.

Unless this FF is coming from somewhere else in the multiverse, so their Shalla Bal Silver Surfer could just be the equivalent of a Captain Carter. We know by the time this film arrives, the implosion of the MCU multiverse as a whole should be in progress. They put this plot point in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, so now it's time to start delivering on it.
