When people say Silver Surfer they obviously mean Norrin Radd, the one with 60 years of established history, and thousands of appearances. Not some non-character who has less than 10 appearances in a barely canon alternate universe.

That's not a gender swap, it's using an alternative character almost no one knows about and this is most likely set in an alt-timeline, since the MCU is balls deep in the multi-verse nonsense. Which needs to stop, imo.

If they wanted a female "Herald of Galactus", they could've used Frankie Raye or Cybermancer. At least they're both canon and not just limited-edition gender/palette swaps of actual characters. Nobody wants the OG introduced later on. Imagine if the first Captian America we saw was John Walker.
Hell they could've used Stardust who is basically a gender less amoeba/spacefish.

Its just so obvious they're still trying to cash in on girl power and strong female leads and "girls get it done" that they took a great concept and HAD to shove a lady in there even though canonical Sue Storm is easily more powerful than Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch in many ways.
There is no argument you could have to make sense of them using a limited run character who is essentially non-canon and no one knows while you're using the Canon stories and versions of everyone else in the story, when the limited run you use is a girl swap of one of their primary adversaries, turned ally,turned adversary again unless you're trying to hit that "Furiosa, Woman King" demographic. Nobody would've batted an eye if they used Frankie Raye for a girl or Stardust who has one of the dopest concepts of all time.

Stardust would've been peeerfect, and after they "defeated" it at the end of the movie, turns out Stardust was just a scout and isn't hurt at all. Reports back to a being that suddenly gleams in the darkness as Stardust bioluminesence shines off of Surfer meditating on his board looking out into deep space, that the humans are more formidable than anticipated and Norrin goes..."I shall inform our Master. Gather the Heralds, tell them to prepare his feast.
Boom, you set up Surfer, Galactus, and like 7 other space badasses before you even get close enough to fight the biggest big bad MCU has ever seen.
