Pretty much what was going on, keep the crazy out of the mainstream, challenge it as being stupid as ****.

Round them all up and send them off to those FEMA camps that that never existed.

And yet all those people were stewing in echo chambers without anyone challenging their opinions. It's essentially cult like with people being encouraged to distance themselves from people who don't agree with them on whatever issue it is until it becomes complete isolation coupled with a feedback loop.
New Twitter won't change this. It's very easy to insulate yourself on twitter from people with ideas you don't like or whatever. That won't change. The only thing that will change is some people will get unbanned and more shitheads will feel emboldened, but they should be easy enough to avoid and ignore.
Personally I don't use twitter much, I basically use it to follow video game and movie news, and a few people in those industries I find interesting, and so I never really see anything on twitter outside of those topics unless I actively seek it out. Trump will probably be unbanned but it's not like everyone on the site will be forced to read his shitposting.

In his defence, having somewhere that isn't an echo chamber hugbox isn't a bad idea on the face of it. It won't be well implemented though.
Originally posted by BackFireyou can insulate yourself, yes. Society, not so much.

And yet he was shouting for her, not him.
Which proves he's a dangerous and ill partisan, not part of some GoP conspiracy.
I mean, I'm fine with arguments that the rhetoric had a bad effect on him. I don't believe at all that anyone really wants someone to actually attack her or her husband or anyone else.
And I'd argue it's unfair to blame that rhetoric on one side, politics in the US has been a cesspool for awhile now. It's all about scoring points, everything else is seen as fair game to that.
