Pelosi announced today that she is stepping down next year and while I'm happy as I've said for years all these decades long career politicians should move on, it's sad that she's doing it out of fear for her family's safety, as the next unhinged Rightist could bring a gun instead of hammer.

Her stepping down, if caused by fear, is a dangerous precedent, and I hate that, if that's her reason. I took it as she is old as hell, and doesn't want to be minority leader again. I was happy about that reasoning.

She is third in line to the presidency, she should have Secret Service protection.

If you agree with Pelosi's politics and way of handling herself or not, is irrelevant. She shouldn't have been targeted and made to fear for her and her family's lives.

eg Mitch McConnell is truly a human piece of garbage, someone who has no problem taking away people's rights and healthcare to feed his already uber rich friends just a little more. But I wouldn't want him attacked with a hammer and quitting politics out of fear. He should be voted out.
