Yes, it does appear to be false now that we have more information. Hopefully, the reporter will be more careful in the future. She claims she felt rushed to break the story, but she definitely should have explained it was just speculation either way. Fortunately, it was a pretty small detail only relevant for memes.

Now if we could only get the Tate fans to admit the same about their conspiracies. Many think he's just being targeted by the law for insulting Greta, or "defending men."
