I dunno how it works where you are but I’ve seen quite a few fast food places where the exit connects to the parking lot.

That's stupid. If people see that the parking lot is crowded then they'll take the hint go somewhere else for their fast food.

But why would you even want to eat in your car in the first place? Your fingers get covered in grease from the fries, and salt and crumbs get everywhere, you might spill sauce or soda, and you don't want your car to smell like a fast food kitchen.

^ Same reason people eat at their work desk or on a cross-beam of a skyscraper. Not exactly appropriate places to eat at but sometimes you gotta eat and run.
