Spoiler:
I'm so ****ing sick of the villains almost always being some sort of evil-Kryptonian or Luthor. I guess Bizzaro will be somewhat different... But, god dammit, I want Brainiac already!

^^^Ugh. Again???
Totally agree w. you here.

Assuming the info is correct: I still think Gunn will give us better than what we've had, but the key plot is virtually the same as BvS... just lazy.

^^^Unlike a lot of times when start complaining about
Spoiler:
plots, villains etc.
, I don’t think we’re being jaded or nit picky here.
Superman has some pretty decent
Spoiler:
villains outside Lex Luthor, Bizarro, other Kryptonians
that fans actually want to see. This’d be a perfect time to have that happen.

Still, like you said, here’s hoping for better than what we’ve had.

The problem is they keep rebooting and they restart with yet another origin story and same villains. They should have kept Caville and done MOS 2 before BvS and JL.

Watch, this Supes will get 1-2 films, maybe 3, same villains we've seen and then reboot.

^^^Soothsayer.

I’ve no problem w. the reboot, or the new actor but another origin story’s NOT needed.
I hate to bring the MCU into this but, it was a stroke of genius to skip Spider-man’s origin story.
We comics fans all know it. Non comics fans know it. Lost tribes in the Amazon know it. That goes double for Supes.

This new movie should just get to Clark Kenting at the Daily Planet, and Superman being an established presence.

You want to throw in Lex Luthor? Fine make it a cameo, wet our whistles; and use some other freaking bad guys.

I like

Spoiler:
Bizarro
.

Luther aside, not like Doomsday hasn't been overused himself, and after BvS I wouldn't care for seeing spiky punch monster in a live action film again, nice as a proper Death of Superman adaptation would've been.

Brainiac in live action is overdue though, yeah, even if I'm not hungry for more of him particularly.

If they really want to do something new with Luthor have him wear his Warsuit.

CW did it fine with Jon Cryer's Lex, so I'd be down for that. ✅ Can't get any worse than Eisenberg, bottom line.

Do we need Brainiac though? He's been spammed everywhere else in other medias and having another movie with yet another alien coming in with another doomsday spaceship already got that fill from Zod in MoS and then Brainiac twice in the Injustice 2 & Suicide Squad videogames. Just screw off with spaceships.

Brainiac is arguably Superman's second most important villain, so yes, we need to finally see him in a film (plus who gives a shit about the Suicide Squad game). And there are plenty of ways to do him beyond just another alien in a doomsday spaceship. Regardless, I'd be fine with many other major Superman villains. Anything other than Luthor and yet another evil Kryptonian.

Like what? Every time they keep throwing in the endgame-level villains, it's always that crap what with originality being dead.

This is Superman. Most of his villains are going to be on that level. Regardless, there are plenty of different ways to do Brainiac beyond your typical alien invasion. Maybe do something like Morrison's Action Comics where Brainiac bottles Metropolis for his collection.

Parasite, Livewire, Toyman, Ultra Humanite, Atomic Skull, Silver Banshee, Metallo...

Most of these guys are still huge threats. And I don’t think any of them are compelling enough to carry the movie on its own. You’d probably need to do a combo of them, which could be fun.

just throwing out there but Frida Gustavsson as New Diana

looks like new batman may have been cast
