We have precedent that our presidents are not kings, otherwise Nixon wouldn't have had to resign and then needed to receive a full pardon.

Yup. The SC deliberated Nixon's presidential immunity claim for a little over 2 weeks.

This court could also deliberate for weeks to a month+, decide to not make a ruling and kick it back down to the lower courts for even further review.

There's an almost zero chance the trial happens this year as it is now.

I can't wait until they rule that the President can murder political rivals with impunity and Dark Brandon puts a hit out on Trump. That'll be sweet.
