What would be the worst thing they could do to screw up ROTK??

The scourging of the Shire and the way Saruman (sic?) died are very important parts of ROTK. It showed how all of Middle Earth had become intermingled in the last war of the ring, and how the Hobbits decisions to get involved had dire consequences. The way Saruman died, was very ironic, being at the hands of his own servant.

For me, ROTK has already been reuined for me, if you read the books, then you know Andruil, (Narsil Reforged), is at Aragorns side throughtout the whole quest, but, in the movie version, PJ is going to have this big todo where Arwen brings Aragorn the sword, at least thats what I heard anyway.

Yes, which makes far more sense for the way the FILM works. A film CANNOT be the same as the book.

Frankly, I thought the end of ROTK a complete waste of tiem in the books. And Saruman's death there was more pitiful than ironic- though I imagine that will stay the same.

yeh well Peter Jackson is, as we all know, a raging homo. So I guarantee he will do something so terribly wrong to really f*** up the film, like give them all lollipops for swords and have flying monkeys, and make gandalf really be 2 hobbits in a costume or sometihng crazy like that. 🤨 ✅ i know you are thinking that he wont go that extreme, but . . . . HE WILL, HE IS A JACKASS AND I HOPE HE DOESNT DO THE HOBBIT OR IT WOULD SUCK.

I wasn't suggesting he be exact to teh book, however there are certain character elements, attributes, and actions that shouldn't be changed. What he has done to Faramir's character, and a lesser extent Aragorns characters, are just flat out wrong, and not what Tolkien wrote the charcters as being. Faramir was the exact opposite of his Brother Boromir, but in the Movies we get Faramir as Boromir #2, and Aragorn, in teh books, isn't a whiney *****, in the books, he knows what he is heading out to do and he embraces his destiny, and what he is going to become if he survives the war, this is further shown with the fact he has Narsil reforged into Andruil, and sets out from Rivendale with it. In the movies, Aragron doesn't know what he wants, and leaves Narsil behind in rivendale. i got a feeling there is going to be this Aragorn epiphany (sic?) in ROTK, in which Arwen delivers Narsil Reforged to him, and all of a sudden Aragorn is like, Oh Ok, It's time to be king.....

So, as I said, I know that certain elemsts of books, can't be shown as to keep movies more entertaining, but, the charcters should not be changed, especially how characters died.

As for the Scourging of the Shire, it is an important part of the book, as it brings closure to Sarumans Story, and also, sets up the fact that Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippen will be held in high esteem in the shire afet they return and why Sam becomes Mayor.

i was pissed the way faramir was too... he was all screwed up... he wouldn't have wanted the ring if it was lying along a road somewhere... craziness.... elves at helm's deep?? i hope ROTK doesn't piss me off...

Killing off one of the characters that shouldn't die, not showing Eowyn fight the witch king, or leave out any of the weddings 💃

No, I disagree, for the needs of the film some characters and plots have to change, and only purists are offended by this. Closure to the Saruman story CAN be brought earlier and all that stuff about being held in high esteem in the Shire is something that is not in ANY WAY relevant to the end of a good film- it is the sort of luxury you can only afford in a book. At the very most it would need only a few breief visual cues to be demonstrated. And a LOT of people- me included- couldn't stand it even in the book! It is, by a long way, my least favourite part of the entire saga- and Tolkien was always having to defend its presence.

But in any case, the film can only be improved by its absence. The point is that Peter Jackson- who understands and loves Tolkien just as much ss any of you- understands the need to make these changes for the good of the film, which has to be written for EVERYONE, not just fans of the book. And if you think the general member of the public will be entertained, AFTER the climactic finish of the main story, by a load of Hobbits running around the shire killing dull evil men, then you do not know a lot about how to make a popular film.

I really don't want PJ to kill any important character that was not supose to die... He can't forget the weddings and the death of Saruman...
I also want to see the Witch-King and his army leaving Minas Morgul while Frodo, Sam and Gollum are near there. 😕 😕 😕

I would say the worst they could do is replacing one of the characters with Vin Diseal. LOL, J/K people.

I hope they didn't change any other character like they did with Faramir's. That's unfair because he didn't want to take the Ring from Frodo. I hope there won't be more "legerdemain" like that.
