Re: Re...

Believe it or not, hell's worse.

Well, I think the avalanche comparison is valid. How can you be absolutely sure there is no heaven and hell, no afterlife, no God, no supernatural world in general? Just because you can't see them? Seeing does not make for fact, now does it?
If fact is only what can be scientifically proven, than we would have a very limited way of perceiving the world. Fact also is that you cannot prove that God does NOT exist. On top of that, everyone has a belief system. So do you. You do not BELIEVE there is something supernatural or an afterlife, that does not make it fact.

Re: Re...

Nor can you prove there is a God.
I belive in the simple thing, a more natural way of life to origin. And it is true that hell is on earth it is an actuall place in Norway. Hell in Norwegian doesnt mean the same as hell in english. The place became known in 1991 or 1992 when miss universe came from Norway, she lived in Hell.

Re: Re...

Hehehe. I didn't know that. 😂

Re: Re...

Either did I, but I am leaving this post alone, finti, no offense, but I feel strongly in religion, in fact I am more dedicated to mine then I feel Dynasties in India were to the Upanishads and the Rig Veda, which is VERY dedicated. I feel very offended by your sayings, but I believe every1 has an opinion, some better than others however...😠 o

Re: Re...

I really respect your devotion UBH, I whish I could share your faith. Unfortunately I dont, but that is just me.
Get me right I dont deny the existence of a God, I`m not an athiest, I just dont belive.
Im what you call an agnostic.

Re: Re...

Agnostics are people who wait how thing'll turn out. It might be or might not be. It's a form of non-committal, really.

In essence finti, you can never blame religion itself. Only "religious" people who do bad things in the name of that religion. Luckily they're just as bad as non-religious people, which goes to show there is a chance of redemption for us all.

Re: Re...

Very good point queeq. Basicly man is good. Religious or not.

Re: Re...

I think religously we're in the same boat finti..Did you grow up in a religion at all?..I didn't..

Re: Re...

Well no, finti. Basically man is bad. Just check out your newspapers and look at man's handiwork. I see no good in that at all... unfortunately.

Re: Re...

I think most people are good...it's just that the bad one's get the attention..I guess only badness is newsworthy.

Re: Re...

Looks like we have a difference of opinion. Great. 🙂

Re: Re...

I'm just the other side of your coin, queeqer 🙂

Re: Re...

In case you were wondering,I'm Catholic.

Re: Re...

I think you and I are the only Catholics on here, EJ..but I'd have to go back and re read the whole thread. I agree that unfortunatly most of what society deems newsworthy is bad news. Man's inhumanity to man, and more upsetting to me personally, man's inhumanity to animals. I've gotten to the point where I skim the headlines in the morning paper every day and only read the articles that are good or just topical. I know ignoring the bad won't make it go away, but sometimes it just ruins my day and I can't get the stuff out of my head. Actually, its amazing the incredibly wide range of belief systems that are spread across the whole world and that new ones still emerge. I think we can at least all agree one one thing: we will all find the whole story on the day we die, no matter what we have believed or disbelieved throughout our lives on this earth. Just my $ 0.02. 🙂

Re: Re...

Very valuable $0.02 to be sure, Gundy.

There are not so many belief-SYSTEMS, but a lot of denominations. And that is sad. People do not look for unity but for getting their own way. Nope, people are not good. No, sir.

Re: Re...

I'm not going to compromise what I believe for the sake of belonging to a group. I compromise enough in my life...I don't feel like I need to compromise my personal relationship with God.

Re: Re...

Please don't. That'll make things worse. 🙂

I'm not asking you to compromise, I just like to enlighten my POV. Shall I stop?

Re: Re...

There was a joke in our mass bulletin about a young priest saying his first mass and had (at the recommendation of a senior priest there to observe him) a few nips of wine beforehand to calm him down. After the mass, the senior priest pointed out to the younger that The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Big Daddy, Junior and The Spook. Just a little humor to lighten things up. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Re: Re...

Then explain this comment..."People do not look for unity but for getting their own way"

No, queeq, I don't want you to stop. I love hearing your point of view...I was just sharing mine.

Re: Re...

If we could all look as hard for the good in people as Luke did...
