What will happen to R2D2 and C3PO at the end of ep. 3?

now, a memory whipe is almost certain for them. but the real question...is how doesn't obi remember them in anh?

Maybe they get sent with the Aldeeran with the leia and luke and never heard from again.

I wondered about Obi-Wan not recognising R2-D2 in ANH and because, at that time, I had not yet discovered these forums, I asked my Mum. She said it's not a "hole" because of the actual dialogue used by Obi-Wan:
"I don't remember ever OWNING a droid" So maybe he recognised him but remembered not owning him or something...??

maybe he assumes possession of r2 in ep.3.....

Yeah, maybe the droids will just have their memories swiped and then thats it.

OB1 never litterally owned a droid; so he is correct (R4-P17 is from the Jedi Order and not his)
perhaps he didn't want to go at first? and remember there are a lot of R2 units running lose in the galaxy

Bail Organa probably had the droid's memory erased to make sure they didnt mention anything to leia about luke or anakin or vader or her mother or...just about anything that happened. remember, the reason luke and leia were seperated was to keep them secret from vader

captain antilles is the guy strangled by vader at the start of ep IV.....(but then there are supposed to be a lot of antilles in the star wars universe)....there is also a captain bail antilles of alderaan mentioned in ep I (was supposed to be bail organa i think, but i'm bored of the topic, so no more of this).....my guess is this is the same guy all three times, and he's close to bail organa and leia......

c3po definitely has his memory erased, he has no idea what's going on in ep IV, doesn't remember tattooine or obi wan or anything.....but i'm holding out for r2 not to have one, he seems to know what's going on totally, remembers obi wan, knows where to head to get to obi wan's hut etc....i like how these scenes play out, with him knowing and being frustrated at c3po's ignorance.....but i think lucas said they both get wiped, so we'll see....

obi wan remembers artoo ("come here my little friend" etc).....at least that's how i see it....he lies to luke, for the same reason he always does....he doesn't want to open up a can of worms and have to explain things that are best left unexplained for the present....

i wouldn't trust 3po to keep his mouth shut either....
