Don't be damned ludicrous. For a start, the question is not whether they are better, but whether Lucas did a horrible job on them like you have proposed.
You think he did. That is an opinion. Kindly do not state it as a fact which overrides the opinions of others- you have no right to do that.
I hope that is clear.
I doubt it. When TPM was announced in 1997/8, I read a giant article about VII-IX and he said to wait and see what happened after I-III, and the way things look, I doubt seriously that he would go for a third SW trilogy. That would be pretty cool, but right now I think it's a tad unrealistic to go that far. If he feels like doing it, I'm up to pay the nine bucks to see the movies though! Again though, highly unlikely.
Most rumours of a new trilogy are based on the fact that this was GL's original plan. However, most people who invoke this fact are not aware that GL closed off those plotlines when he made ROTJ- because ROTJ ended the way Episode IX would have done if he had decided to do the third trilogy. He effectively destoryed the idea of a sequel trilogy there and then.
Therefore we would need AMAZIGNLY solid evidence to believe anything like this, and no such evidence has ever existed.
