Lucas was talking about the sequel trilogy mess on either the TPM or AOTC documentary. I don't remember which one it was, but he said a sequel trilogy was more of a media idea, and that it most likely won't happen because it takes 9-10 years of his life to make.

And yes, it didn't help by SS claiming a sequel trilogy to be true. 🙄

Maybe once Lucas dies, and someone else takes over Lucasfilm and wants to bank more money, but not until then.

he should make more star wars movies...however they should not be based on EU, NJO, or the plots he wrote for episode 7, 8, and 9...he should make some completely original SW stories...this would be the most enjoyable...i think knowing the plot ahead of time makes the films a little less interesting...also i believe the prequel films lack the imagination, cinematography, acting, directing, etc. of episodes 4-6...he should just start over and not worry about making a blockbuster or a lot of money...how about just good movies?

I think a few movies, not sequels or prequels in a sense, should be added. A linear structure is nice, but it limits majorly what can be done. I like Wynndar's idea.

Somewhere,I remember seeing on a forum a interview about the greatness of O vs A in Episode 3.Hayden says that the one in Episode 3 will be good,but the one in Episode 8 will be the greatest,then no more comments.

Ok this is driving me batty! Years ago at the time of the OT"s release GL originally intended to have 9 movies. This was direct from his own mouth. And I am old enough to know. However, somewhere around the time TPM was being filmed or right before, he announced that EP's 1,2&3 were going to be the last because he simply didnt want to be 80 years old and making Star Wars movies. Please note, this is NOT my opinion it's what he said at those times. Take it from an old woman. We are done after EP 3.

It has come to my attention that the only people who are really interested in the making of 7,8, and 9 are the people who big fans of the EU. It would be fun to watch and everything but it would be an essentially pointless trilogy. What makes you think Lucas would use stuff from the EU in the first place. He is already contradicting the characteristics of Chewie's home world Kashykk. In the EU it was a bunch of tree houses similar to endor. Now sources are saying it is a very technolgicaly advanced

Well you know in another 20 years there will be some macho, rich director that thinks he can make a new trilogy he goes ahead and makes some movie with Space Monkeys and a beer fueled Ben Solo. Then it releases it would sell millions of dollars just because it is a remake and true Star Wars fans would be disgusted.

well trilogies do come in threes so that would make the third one the last one.

I know what you mean though he said that he feels the story is complete after 6.

I feel that stopping it after 6 is the right thing to do. The first 6 have a good story and flows together nicely. I think it should stay and end that way.
