Looks as tho God did fix the universe himself to me. he used someone to do it. As he always does. he uses the Lt all the time. But he knew the LT would not destroy everything. So he used Thanos. God made the heart. God put it where thanos could find it. Then god used thanos. God is omnipotent. That literally means in control of everything. Thanos wasn't in control thus he wasn't omnipotent.
By the way, Master, Is the Kirby Avatar Superior to thanos with the heart? Since he sat ABOVe the marvel Omniverse and is shown as having complete control. Something Thanos didnt' have.

And Thanos wasn't everything the kirby avatar was, becuz the kirby avatar was always in full control, AND aboave the marvel omniverse.
