Ok, so issue 1 starts with Longshot getting a haircut:

Meanwhile, Reed/Tony have a Cosmic Cube which they are transporting, and the In-Betweener is hunting for it:

Longshot, after his haircut, gets involved with a bank heist gone wrong at the home of an eccentric inventor and his hot daughter:

Unfortunately/fortunately, the In-Betweener catches up to Longshot, and the inventor tries to protect Longshot by shooting him, which hits Tony/Reed's truck, which explodes and Longshot gets the CC:

Longshot then has the CC, and rewrites reality:

In this new reality, the bank heist never happened, and the In-Betweener got split in half and took over SHIELD to hunt magical beings etc etc etc. That's why Hulk et al are alternate versions - Longshot rewrote reality. This is confirmed in the next issue, which abhi posted:

It's not 616 Hulk, it's *a* Hulk from a reality that was rewritten by Longshot using the CC. Sorry.

Edit: and it isn't even the only time he uses it. We later on see that he's been using the CC over and over and over again to help people, which is what is destroying reality:
