Labored Breathing. Thats all he could hear. Nay, that was all he could feel. His eyes opened, and water met his eyelids. Except he could see nothing. And a light styarted to emmit from his mouth... and he could see that he was in a tomb, and that fromm the neck down, a skeleton lay. The wals were of golden inlay, and within lay markings. And somehwo he could read the language, and somehow he knew what he was, his past, his present. He was a king, an ancient king, almost 200 years ago. The last thing he remembered was intense pressrue and pain, and the sight of a demon litterally imploding. And now he was back. He wasnt sure what would happen, but suddenly he felt strength surge through him. His skeletal hand became skin, and his tail felt renewed. He felt... alive. He punched through the solid gold. The world outside was dark and mysterious. he was in a badly maintained chamber... three toher tombs lay beside. For the first time in almost 200 years, his motuh creackded open, a little bit of liquidic dust floated out of his mouth. "Whoa..." Thay had returned, and not only did he not know if his friends were still alvie, but why he was alive himself.

Taty sat on a the edge of a cliff. Her life had been ordinary and simple. She took care of her brothers until they were grown and could take care o themselves. Zane's leaving hurt the most. He was the one she had bonded with. He still visited every now and then. Taty smiled as she thought of his wedding. Zane's wife was perfecft or him.

"Wow... this place is old... and yet, it isn't old." Thay had been around when the place was constructed and the tombs of the past kings had been moved into here. He had seen his own tomb constructed. And he got to destroy it... every kings dream...
The seal of the door was rusted shut, and Thay noticed that he ahd a different kind of strength. Something was different in him, yet he knew that every merperson was the same as him. ((A.K.A. he's somehow tapped into an inner strength that no other merperson has... yet)) Thay blinked. The world seemed to blur slightly, but maybe that was ecause he wasn't used to his watery perspective. Thay swam back and started to charge toward it. But then he stopped half-way, and tought a moment. The door handle glowed slightly, then broke off and the door swung open. "Uh... wow..." Thay shook his head, knowing that somehow he did it without realizing it. Thay swam out into the under-caverns, the secret areas under the royal castle of the king that housed most of the ancients. Thay had this place constructed by a few trusted advisors, adnt he only other person who knew of it was Ewan. Thay tried to get his bearings

Ewan was sitting in the throne room, though not on the throne itself. Even after several hundred years, he didn't feel... Right... Sitting in the throne. After all, he was not of royal blood. He was the product of a mortal (as in a mortal merman not a human) and an elder, he was of mixed blood. There were not many like him, and he remembered well that day long ago when he had chosen to live an immortal life.
It had been a long time since those ancient wars, though, like most immortals, he didn't count the years. They moved in a blur to him, sometimes passing quickly, other times inching along at a snail's pace. He couldn't remember how long it had been. Two, three hundred years? He couldn't be sure. But then, he didn't really care, either. He recognised but one thing that had shown the passing years, and that was the change in himself. Once, he had been restless and immature, yearning for adventure. Now that he had had it, and knew it, he no longer cared for it. It wasn't that he wasn't capable of fighting, it was that he didn't want to. Many young mermen dreamed of becoming great war heroes, and many looked up to Ewan as one. But he himself hated war, now that he had seen its terror. That was the most noticeable change. The second was that he his love for Lila had changed somehow--they hadn't grown apart, if anything they had gotten closer. But before, it had been a sort of breathless yearning, wild in a way. Now it was more... Mature, the type which was typical of immortals. He had grown, in many ways. One thing, he was sure hadn't changed. He was still humble. Sometimes, when he would lay out in the garden with Lila, he even forgot that he was a king.
