Marvel Shake-Up

quote:
The ever reliable lads over at Bleeding Cool have compiled a list of the rumours they've heard about new creative teams taking over some of Marvel's core titles this October in a relaunch following the events of Avengers Vs. X-Men. It won't effect continuity like "The New 52", but the Marvel Universe will apparently be a very different place with new looks for many of the characters. The following books (some new; some old) may be going back to #1 as well as having a shake up of writers and artists. Check out the list below, stay tuned for further details, and be sure sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

• UNCANNY AVENGERS - Rick Remender/Jerome Opena
• CAPTAIN AMERICA - Rick Remender/John Romita Jr.
• WOLVERINE - Frank Cho
• IRON MAN - Kieron Gillen/Greg Land
• FANTASTIC FOUR - Matt Fraction/Salvador Larocca
• UNTITLED BI-WEEKLY X-MEN BOOK - Brian Bendis/Stuart Immonen/Brandon Peterson/Lenil Yu
• GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - Brian Bendis
• NOVA - Brian Bendis OR Jeph Loeb/Ed McGuiness
• HULK AND THE AGENTS OF SMASH - Jeff Parker
• AVENGERS ASSEMBLE - Mark Waid
• AVENGERS - Jonathan Hickman/Esad Ribic

If true, wow.

I mean, Hickman on Avengers? Yes, please. Waid on Avengers Assemble? Sure.

Bendis or Loeb on Nova? no expression

Fraction on Fantastic Four? no expression x2

Supposedly the landscape of the Marvel U would change drasticially after AvX, and a creator shake up would do that, imo.

I heard about Hickman and the avengers (thank god) and also on bendis writing uncanny xmen (they have my condolences). Bendis and loeb writing nova is "no buenos". Fraction on FF is upsetting along with the fact that hes writing a new Hawkeye series as well. I knew Brubaker was leaving cap but I didnt know remender would replace him. Also Bendis is writing a GOTG (**** ME)

Fraction on Fantastic Four?I wonder if Fraction will have Reed Richards acting like a douchebag in front of Galactus?Or how about Reed and Doom yelling at each other by saying "you're a pain in the ass!" dialogue? Then again, this would be a win for Thor fans.

I hope this rumor is true.

Just noticed that Land will draw for gillens iron man? Shit. Gillen should just keep him in his armor 24/7, that way I wont have to keep seeing the same expressions over and over traced from some magazine that land thinks wont be traced back to him.

The upcoming Uncanny Avengers is going to be a Cap/Wolverine led team. Judging from premises, it will be an X-Men influenced Avengers team.

Cap and Wolverine leading a team together sounds like a bunch of meh.

I'd read anything Hickman puts out, but if he's writting Avengers then he can do a massive Kang arc, not many of the current writters could pull that off. I'll admit that Bendis respected Ultron and Kang the most among the Avengers classic villains, but still, Kang barely appeared in his Kang arc.

Edit: Did Bendis ever wrote Baron Zemo?

Bendis on the Guardians is batsh_t crazy, I really hope he has a plan for this. If anything, it will not look like the old Guardinas at all.

I lol'd at "Hulk and the Agents of Smash." I will feel justified in making fun of anyone reading that whose age doesn't end with "-teen"

Love Hickman on the Avengers.

Uncanny Avengers disgusts me
Hulk and the Agents of Smash is the worst thing I've ever heard
Fraction on FF disgusts me more than I can possibly put to words

Let me write FF, GotG, Nova, and Thor. I'd do better than any of these shmucks.

Agents of SMASH?? Wasn't this going to be a new kids cartoon or something? I think they should make Hulk recruit Abomination, Juggernaut, Blue Marvel, Dumb Drax, Thor, Hyperion, A-Bomb, Hercules, and Sasquatch into a special squad that is deployed by Captain America to just go in and smash any supervillain causing trouble anywhere in the world. No questions, no "Stand down", just smash them and send a message to others.

Hickman on Avengers? Not so sure. His FF was certainly interesting in a lot of ways but I rarely felt like it really paid off with anything meaningful after the endless setup. And the guy seems to be obsessed having little kids drawn with big heads running around saving the day. Seriously, first they took over Fantastic Four then it spilled out into a new title with more little big-headed kids. Why does he love all these big-headed little kids so much? Weird. Expect to see Avengers Mansion overrun with them within a few issues - "Jarvis - where the devil did all these big-headed kids come from???" and a spin-off - Very Young Avengers (Drawn With Big Heads) - featuring Frankie and Valeria.

I guarantee you this idea is better than whatever it ends up being.

I would like to invite anyone who isn't pumped for the creative team of Rick Remender and Jerome Opena to do the world and the comic industry a tremendous favor and please kill yourself.

Fear Agent. Punisher. Uncanny X-Force. What in the collaborative history of those two suggest that what they are working on won't be awesome, regardless of the adjective that happens to be in front of the title.

Uncanny Avengers...

Cap co-leading a team with Wolverine (or anyone for that matter) is like Superman or the goddamn Batman co-leading with phucking Plastic Man.

That's the truth and I'm sticking to it.
