Also, did goober actually compete in the last one? I don't remember any matches with him. I know he was flirting with dropping out, but wasn't sure what was decided. Because I'll take him off the participant list otherwise.
Good point. And yes, they are. I hadn't really thought about it though.
Vision did marry Wanda. I know that doesn't technically make him male, but he's always been written as such. SA is more amorphic, though, and might be better categorized as neither.
I'll switch SA to "Other." But Vision's staying as a male, despite the lack of on-panel (pornographic) evidence.
I also always want to draft nothing but indie characters when I see that list. Spawn is the lone winner who isn't from the Big 2. 'course if I hadn't gotten banned from Evangel's last tourney, I'd like to think goober wouldn't have been a lock to win and The Doctor could've gotten one for team indie, but alas. And most of the time, drafts roll around and Marvel/DC characters are just too enticing and safe.
Mr. Majestic? Nice pick. Thor/GL/Surfer? Better pick. Though I'm a little shocked MN'er hasn't won one, since he has a couple appearences in tourneys.
Draft only Indie characters eh? that'd be the Dr Jones team then.
The vast majority of characters I've drafted in tourneys have been from Marvel comics ... only ones that weren't (off the top of my head anyway) were the Flash, General Grievous a Kull Warrior from Stargate SG1 ... and those last two only got me a 5th place finish.
Khell's amalgam, consisting of Grail, MNer, and Blink.
Yeah.
...my fault for allowing them in, but none of us knew a ton back in those days. Anyone could find a semi-obscure character with little trouble that no one else had heard of, and sneak them in, knowingly or unknowingly.
But yeah, his amalgam was the best in that tourney by a healthy margin (it was the one where you had General What's His Nuts from Star Wars).
Yeah, I didn't quiet "get" the meshing in the that tourney. I was sure the limit for strength/speed was Spider-Man even after the amalgamation process, so I never even tried to stack powers.
It was clearly a learning tournament. We had never done a street/meta tourney, and no one besides Evangel had really organized and run a tourney, so I was flying blind. I never set a mesh limit, but also wasn't explicit enough about the rules, so we had confusion like that. I wish I had known what I know now...I'd have been far more of a d*ck about draft picks, and also far more prepared rules-wise.
Meh, Khell's was one of the few amalgams I wasn't too worried about to be honest (because with my armour I could walk through his shields unharmed) I thought Long Pig's Shocktopus was probably one of the best. But I did think that having a character who generates that much energy would probably fry Doc Ock's tentacles or magnetise them to his steel body armour.
