Alright, let's give you all a lesson in math.

To find the volume of a hexagonal prism, the shape of the pillar, we have to first find the area of a hexagon the same size as it's base. To do *that*, we need to know the length of it's side. Sooo, let's get that first!
(please log in to view the image)
Using this, we can determine that the length of a side is 10.16494845 ect.. (493/291*6) Now we use this to determine the area of the hexagonal base.

Anyone wanna try? smile

I am not avoiding the question at all. If photobucket doesn't work, I need to use a different host for my images if I'm going to debate with you properly.

Let's be conservative for the sake of argument and call it 40 feet tall.

the colossus is 107 ft tall, making it roughly 2.6-2.7 x the height (assuming your guess is accurate)

sorry but that makes it impossible for it to weigh more than 1000 tons erm

the statue christ the redeemer is roughly 130 ft tall, its made of reinforced concrete (which weighs almost the same as granite), and it only weighs 600 tons erm

unlike the colossus, the statue is completely solid
how much difference is there between the density of reinforced concrete and granite?

Depends on the type of Granite.

And since when was a statue of Christ involved in this?

since sp decided that a 40 ft solid pillar weighed more than a 130 ft solid statue, when both are made of substances that are similar in weight erm

Siiince concrete is actually surprisingly light compared to granite, you're wrong. The lightest granite on the planet weighs 165 pounds per cubic foot.

Density, it has words for you.

I MEANT why are we talking about a statue of Christ when the whole thing that has been argued is about Kratos tossing the Colossus of Rhodes.

Did he toss a statue of Christ too?

like i said, not much difference, only 10 pounds per cu. foot stick out tongue
edit - when you say 'lightest', you forgot to mention that average granite weighs 166 pounds per cu. foot stick out tongue

I spent all day moving concrete at work, your numbers have to be wrong, or I'm herculean. no expression

'fraid not erm
the point im trying to make is, even if we can use physics to relate to a gameplay mechanic, the fact the the granite slab can only weigh around 200 tons, not the "over 1000" crap you've been spouting..
maybe less, since the granite slab also appears to be a lot thinner than the statue..

Negative.

For one. I literally spent my day moving around large blocks of the crap, and wheeling it around, ect. For two, in order for you to make that assumption, you have to math the volume of both and compare them.

Edit: Hell, for the lulz, go ahead and call it 200 tons. Link's feat is still better because he threw the weight.

not quite, considering there was a considerable force pushing against kratos when he pushed away the colossus
