Gast says he's searching for a challenging where he can so it's possible, even likely, he lowered his PL against Cell Jr. so the fight would be more interesting to him. He's probably around Vegito level
I wouldn't say he was "awfully worried". As I said he should be around that power meaning Vegito and Broly were possibly the only credible threats he's ever come across:
Fast doesn't react too much, he was awfully worried considering all mystic Gohan did was make him open his eyes. He had to look away from Vegito and was standing tentatively watching the match, its not like someone who spends most of the tourney with his eyes closed.
Yeah, but Buu thought he could beat Vegito when they first met too. Its well understood how arrogant he is.
Buu is arrogant but this Buu has absorbed the most intelligent people in his universe plus he absorbed Goku and Vegeta after they've felt the power of Vegito. He would be intimately familiar with Vegito. He isn't just talking out of his ass

I attributed that to magic, or a trick of some sort. Not to say its not impressive of course. But if he could do that with just the sheer force of his children, he really wouldn't have much to worry about.
That infinite power quote to be for Broly as his power just kept increasing with no limit. I don't think Vegito would be considered to have infinite power
Buu and Vegito are probably close in strength. We can't know for sure but again Buu would be intimately aware of Vegito's power having absorbed both Goku and Vegeta and if he believes he can beat Vegito, we can assume he at least believes he can. With all that being said, Gast seemed didn't seem overwhelmed at Vegito's power. Look at how almost everyone reacted to Broly vs Vegito:
They were basically shitting their pants. But not Gast. And I didn't mean that I don't think Gast is a match for SSJ3 Vegito. I think he is. I personally think his is but I just don't have the hard evidence to back it up yet which is why I said "around his level"
And Gast said "strength is nothing". That kinda tells me even he believes he he can still win in the face of what he just saw felt:
They were all talking about Vegito, Gast included. Kai said he was invincible, though obviously that's not true, it's just a way of expressing their astonishment.
It's the difference in reaction from every other scene that makes it evident he's worried though. He's beyond stoic, almost non responsive. Vegito changes that demeanor completely.
Strength is nothing, because he needs to win. At least that's my interpretation, you'll notice cell also thinks he can improve enough to be a challenge.
Sure, he can be a threat. He's not weaksauce by any means. Just from what I've seen, he's probably #4 or 5 strongest.
Vegito doesn't have infinite power tho. Only Broly does. And it was clear that Vegito was worn out after the fight so to think anyone would assume his power has no limits is silly. The only one ever to be considered in that way here was Broly
I already said I do think he was concerned but that's quite different than him thinking he is outmatched. As I stated earlier, Vegito(and Broly) might have been the only ones he thinks so far would be an actual challenge for him. Hence a reaction even tho it was a minimal one
Or strength is nothing because there are other ways to win outside of just slugging it out. But still "unlimited strength" is a comment referring only to Broly. We can't really compare Cell's mindset to Gast's imo
Well we can't be completely sure either way since he's only fought people that were far inferior to him so far. I just think they are building him up to be one of the top dogs. #1-3 I'd imagine
I don't think he was being literal, it makes sense to me that he'd use such a term to describe it because Vegito blew away someone with "infinite power" and considering everyone else before was talking about Vegito, it's still to think he wasn't.
I know, but I explained why my version makes more sense. I guess I don't know what type of reaction you were expecting from someone as stoic as Gast.
Yeah that's possible, he's probably betting on those other ways if he wants to win. Doesn't make sense for it to be Broly, because Broly was eliminated, hence not a worry anymore (More or less)
There is a zero chance that he's #1. 3 maybe, since even though Buu probably has higher chi, what's to say he can't just turn him into a ball again if they fight. But there's some crazy shit going on with XXI and Vegito Obviously, then there was Broly.
If you look back at the entire encounter(and even the backstory of Broly given in the comic) we see that his power is continually referred to as infinite or unlimited or something along those lines. Never once was Vegito referred to in that way(to my knowledge anyway). To just assume Gast meant him doesn't really follow anything we've seen up to or since. There's no real reason for Gast to assume Vegito's power is unlimited given what we know and what he's seen. Hell Vegito was significantly weakened after that bout, clearly his power has limits and Gast would be well aware of them.
If you assume for a second that Gast is somewhere in the range of Vegito(maybe sightly stronger or weaker) then his reaction makes perfect sense. He hasn't felt one PL that came anywhere close to his level yet hence his demeanor. But once he felt one creeping up, he started paying attention. I guess it can go either way.
Broly opened his eyes tho. He probably thought he would slice thru this tournament like butter. He just realized there is more to these competitors than he thought. Broly was still fresh in his gray matter tho
I think XXI is shaping up to be the big bad or at least will have something to do with the baddie. What ever is the main villain, that should be #1 but I can see Gast as superior to Buu and possibly Vegito too. But Bardock did have that vision of Vegito possibly killing Gohan and Bra telling Goku and Vegeta that no one can beat him. I think that's where Gast will step up and take Vegito down. Or at least attempt to
Woah that design for Cold is awesome! Hopefully Bra agreeing to the stipulations and how hot headed she is will make her screw up and get her knocked out of the tourny, I'd much rather see Cold move forward.
Guess this shows he was holding back against Bardock.
