Thank you. I found it last night after reading your post. I've upgraded it. It does 85-88 damage (don't remember). I put the extended mag on it and it carries 40 rounds and fires fairly quickly (almost as fast as you can pull the trigger...or click the mouse, in this case).
I am one-shotting everything, now. And the accuracy is over 100. I still died, once, against a legendary rad scorpion (I had half health and radiation damage) but it only took 2 shots to kill it once I tried again.
This game just got fun. I have sneak attack damage perk turned on, too. I have gun nut 2 (which is how I got my sniper upgraded).
My only problem with the game is actually a good thing: leveling up takes a bit.
Here's a "secret" I figured out:
Find a bunch of steel and wood resources. Then build things like the toobox (2 steel for 2 XP). Build TONS of tool boxes. I have over 2000 steal and built probably thousands of toolboxes very quickly. I was able to level up 5 times before I dropped below 300 units of steal (because you can only recycle half of the steel when you scrap the lunch boxes).
With the idiot savant perk turned on, it randomly gives you 3x the XP which greatly speeds up the power-leveling process.
Gender: Male Location: In Luna's mane, chasing STAAARS!
I got a sniper rifle with plasma infused so now when I shoot an ordinary bullet at things, they receive bonus 10 energy damage. With a .50 receiver, this baby dishes out 102 damage.
I've been having a good time with this so far. The game certainly satisfies but it still feels like something is missing. Even with the settlement and crafting features it still feels just like a large expansion. That isn't a bad thing though.
I can't quite say what it is that i feel is missing but i think having a morality system again would have helped. One that would cause frequent and drastic changes in the world and story. Either way, it still feels good to go scavenging in the, Wastelands again, especially, now that EVERY item is useful in some way.

Also the graphics are far from outdated. The landscapes look gorgeus. Characters might not be the best out there still I wouldnt say they are bad at all.

I had to go on vacation this weekend or else I would have played more. I greatly look forward to leveling up as high as Estacado (level 25-30) because I feel that at that level, I will finally start to be able to be the character I want. It is so hard and difficult to level (unless you use my idea to just build a shit ton of stuff with the idiot savant perk and low intelligence). Any time I level, it is worth it.
Also, I have a suggestion for this group. There is a mission where you have to find a cure for a mole rate virus. It will result in a new companion being available. Offer to give the cure to the doctor but then immediately back away and open your inventory. The drug will still be in your inventory for about 5 seconds after you agree to give it away. Even if the "the cure has been removed from your inventory" message pops up, still open up your inventory and it will still be there if you are fast enough. Then use the cure on yourself. Bam, the negative effect the virus has on you will be cured.
If you don't use my trick, you'll be stuck with a permanent negative effect (it is something like -10 HP on your health, forever). If you use my trick, you'll save the boy and cure yourself. It is an exploit, no doubt. But it reminds me of the old days playing NES or SNES and exploiting the games to get an advantage. It is fun stuff!
I can't wait to have a sniper rifle that does over 150 damage, Estacado. That's going to be the bees knees. I already one-shot everything.
The only thing I hate about the game is that the shops never have enough caps. They always have 200-400 caps. Why can't they have 12,000 caps?
Every cycle that happens (every 2 days), their caps should double. So if you wait or sleep for 8 days, and a shop has 238 caps, after 8 days, it would be 238*(8/2) = 952 caps. So if you don't visit a vendor for many days, you can visit them and then sell a bunch of crap to make a huge profit.
ALSO! You can have pretty much infinite crafting materials if you buy the crafting materials from the shops every 3 days. You will never run out of wood, steel, fertilizer, cement, cloth, etc. Just clean out the shops. It is very expensive, however! Very expensive. I recomend crafting stuff from the materials your purchase and then selling those and then buying more crafting materials. It can get tedious but it is a nice way to level up if you are getting stuck with some tough enemies (like any deathclaws. I feel like deathclaws are extremely difficult to kill until you're about level 15-20).
After like 1-2 missions you get to do sidemissions one comes from a chick (getting artifacts from bases etc) the other type comes from a dude clearing out places.
Dont know how many can you do from these missions.
From the artifact one I did like 10-15+ they are pretty easy.Go to place kill the enemy pickup the stuff go back. Each takes max 10 minutes.
You get 100 caps and around 250-275 xp for doing these.(Off course you get xp for killing so its not that hard to lvl up.)
Thanks for the tip. I read that joining up the Brotherhood of Steel is a great way to level. There is an "protect and escort" mission. If you kill the person you're escorting, out of view and hiding from the others, it will fail the mission but you still get XP. You don't get blamed and the BoS doesn't aggro if they don't see you. Then you can repeat the mission, over and over. Farming XP.
Online estimates say you can earn 20k XP an hour using this method. But it would clearly get very very very boring to do this! I wish there was a way to just fight waves and waves of enemies. Like an arena type mission. And make it repeatable. That's what I really want to do. Then I'd loot the bodies after completing the waves.
No one talks shit about minecrafts graphics.... Last time I checked fallout three had some weird graphics and it was considered an excellent game... Yes a games graphics can be a factor but sometimes games are so good they don't need great graphics
