Just as LeBron looked up to Jordan when he was younger. Brady looked up to Montana, etc. People change and evolve. Someone always came before you and that has no bearing on anything. Desperation makes people say silly things.

No, read again. Kylo doesn't only look up to Vader, he's afraid he will never be as powerful as him.

Sure, Kylo could be wrong, but why am I supposed to assume he's wrong when there's no evidence to the contrary?

So what's that prove ? He has a permanent chip on his shoulder that won't let him be complacent. Luke's opinion is different. We already know both he and Rey's force power is rising to insane levels.
